I remember that great round of ideas we all got last month for some tasty supper ideas (i think jackswebb started about the crock pot treasures) ...

Well, all i could come up with for tonight is meatloaf (ann landers recipe, out of an ebay book i got), sweet corn on cob, and i'm trying to fry up some sauteed onions with already cooked potato innards that my daughter saved/froze for us last week when she came over to make us homemade potato skins ..... the potatoes, although already cooked, aren't browing very fast ...

what are you having tonight?

Grilled sockeye salmon, zucchini w/Parmesan, O'Brien potatoes. Add some red bell peppers to your onions and potatoes and that's sorta what you'll end up with.

(Had meatloaf last night...)

Oh, almost forgot, a nice cold bottle of Two Buck.

Home made spaghetti sauce with pasta and a green salad. I made a big pot of the sauce yesterday so can freeze it and use for future dinners. I bet Ralphie would love it.

Corn on the cob, and 3 different kinds of leftover homemade pasta sauce (we can take our pick), cantaloupe slices.

I always go for something protein-y, something veggie or fruity. The rest is gravy (not really--just an expression).

Pizza - homemade with black olives and baby Portobello mushrooms, pepperoni, onion, green peppers and five cheeses. It is smelling great right now. Lucy, I like the sound of your salmon. I love it, but Bill doesn't; so, I get it when we eat out.

In the words of good old Julia Child, bon apetit to all!

Grilled salmon is wonderful! I had some last week when my son and DIL were visiting. I made a dried-fruit curry (heavy on the apricots) to go with it. Mmmm.... Basmati rice, sliced tomatoes, fruit salad.

We have a guest who has been dying for shrimp. My wife fixed shrimp with hot drawn butter and macaroni salad. Tomorrow night, it's my turn to cook. Barbecued New York steak, corn on the cob and fresh cantolope.

Tell ya what amazes me here. We are all really busy people, aren't we? And yet we're frequently finding time to eat real food at home. Do you think we're a representative sample of Vendio folk, or would it be that people who are having fast food just haven't rung in yet?

I would love to eat some of the meals described here. . . . You guys are great foodies.

Yes, I'm very busy. But, because my "busyness" happens at home most days, it takes a lot less time to cook than to go out. Besides which restaurant food is not as good as what you fix yourself. I don't eat out if I can avoid it.

Of course, food can be ordered in but it's generally too much for one person. I do order in certain Indian or Chinese dishes that have way too many ingredients to justify the time to fix them properly. But that's only when I have someone for dinner.

Are we a representative bunch? I'd say so. The ones eating fast food aren't back from going after it. That's why they haven't checked in.

Well I guess I am the first fast food poster.

My husband and I took out our granddaughter for the day. Went to the Park as she loves to swing. A couple of rides on the trolley, feed the ducks and to cop off the day a trip to McDonalds to see Ronald McDonald in person, her favorite. Of course we had Chicken Selects.

She is really a joy and just loves to go with us and we love to take her, but this summer was so busy with summer school and girl scouts this is the first chance we had.

Wow! all those dinners sound delicious.
