Just had a relative high-dollar (for me anyway) item sell to a winning bidder in Brazil. Has anyone had any problems with shipping there? I've heard of the horror stories about shipping to various other places but don't recall any warnings about Brazil. I did e-mail and said I'd accept only AuctionPayments/BidPay. Thanks for any advice...

I've never sent anything to Brazil.

The only info I can share is my nephew was working down there for several years and he said we shouldn't even try to send him anything because he'd never receive it.

So when he got back he had several years worth of gifts to open!

On the other hand, I've shipped two things in the last year to Brazil and no problems at all. I sold one tonight to Costa Rica, rather new buyer, and holding my breath.

The best way is to use USPS air mail. Do not ship via ground service. Also, you do have the best idea for accepting payments through auctionpayments.com

Brazil does have somewhat of a problem with fraud, but if you follow the safegaurds set by bidpay, you will be fine.

Insist on shipping via a method that can be insured. That would be Global Express. Or there may be other options for insuring via U.S.P.S. Go to www.usps.com and find out what is available to Brazil. No need for you to lose sleep over it. That's what you pay the P.S. for.
