Well, CaptainCrunch, they wern't really gone per se, they were just using that awful moniker: WESTERN UNION AUCTION PAYMENTS, & feeBay & PP had a real ball scaring bidders by instruction auction winners to never use the evil WESTERN UNION, without any distinguishing explanation

Tom-gotta tell ya I LOVE Paypal right off the bat.Since I buy from the United Kingdom quite often,Paypal has been a blessing. Before Paypal sending payments by cash to the U.K. was a "royal pain"(no pun intended)I also signed up for Bidpay, and to be honest, I think I had only had 1 or 2 payments come to me that way,so to me its no big deal. What I thought was really low, and as you stated that Ebay had to put in that statement how unsafe using Western Union was.I mean come on, how desperate can you get?? What really surprised me was that Western Union never sued them.
Speaking of being desperate, did you see what the Yankees tried to do yesterday?
The Devil Rays were supposed to play a doubleheader here at 3:00pm-since a hurrciane was passing thru Tampa Bay over the weekend, they elected to wait it out with the storm there with their families and left at the last minute. They arrived late and now the Yankees want to forfeit the other game of the double header. Can you beleive this #*!@ or what??
I guess since Fat George and his evil empire have been crumbling the last couple weeks they are REALLY desperate.I can only hope Ralphie meets Fat George in an elevator and bites him in the balls.

About BidPay: since I only accept PayPal for shipping to CONFIRMED USA ADDRESSES, BidPay has been great for me -- 99% of my international bidders use it & nobody has complained yet -- except for the occasional & unavoidable CANADIAN CRANK

Glad they dropped that awkward name. Do they accept Master Card again? I have not used them for sometime and the card I use for the internet is an MC. I was not happy when they started to boycott it. I guess I could dig out a seldom used Visa if necessary.

Sounds great! Now, is there any problem with including the BidPay logo (in addition to the PayPal logo) on eBay auctions? I admit to not paying close attention to all the "improvements" eBay's made but seem to recall eBay putting some restrictions on including logos for other forms of payment. Or am I being paranoid?

As long as yer button is 88 x 33 AND either (but NOT both) the button OR the text be clickable -- NO PROBLEMO!
Actually, there has NEVER been any problem with BidPay buttons...
EXCEPT:
If you are PayPal Preferred, then you can ONLY advertise PAYPAL on the auction listing -- but, tis OK-DOKEY to have a BIDPAY button on yer "ME" page & in emails!

they finally cleared that up at ebay though.
the western union auction payment deal.
i guess they worked it out somehow.. cuz there's this page on ebay thats from western union, telling consumers how its not safe to do a instant cash wire transfer, but there's a good alternative such as bidpay.. etc.
of course i cant find that page again, but its there in one of the many help pages somewhere.
it'll be even more of an incentive for users to use bidpay, if say.. they charge less on buyers for paying to sellers that accept payments via direct deposit only. or something along those lines
