Where does eBay come off telling our bidders not to use W/U? I have had several MO's from W/U & never a problem. The reason I am posting this thread is that I just had another one today. Where is the problem?

They aren't talking about Western Union money orders, they are talking about wire transfers.
All the crooks in Romania, Nigeria, etc use it because they can pick up the money anywhere and it isn't really traceable where it went.

Actually, ebay is talking about western union money orders. They are telling buyers that they are not safe.b I say, wake up ebay. You aren't fooling as many as you used to.
I just received a payment from auctionpayments, and they included a flier that states that over 50% of buyers like to use money orders for auction payments. Ebay states 90% use PayPal, what do you believe? I am with the prior.

Interesting... about 90% of my buyers do use Paypal. I wonder why? Perhaps they are like me? Once I set up my my paypal account (originally to pay for my auction purchases), I never bothered looking into bidpay and am too busy to go buy money orders. I also don't want the delay involved in sending checks.
Then again, the majority of my auctions cost over $20 and appeal to an older audience.
I am about sell some of my husbands old (1980's)t-shirt collection. Suspect that will attract a lot of young kids and probably more checks and money orders.
