Just wondering if anyone one is using the Gallery service.
If so how is it working out for you?
Which Gallery type are you using?
Where do you recommend the gallery placement in the auction?
Thanks

Since no one else is answering, I'll throw in my two cents worth. I used the marquee gallery at the top for two months. It didn't help my sales, in fact they went down after I started to use the gallery. I'm sure that had nothing to do with the gallery, just slow buying on eBay. But, the gallery was no help to me at all.

I have had the gallery in my auctions for about half a month now and already I notice a larger number of buyers in my ebay store. I asked a couple of my regular customers about this when they bought, and they said that the gallery was what got them in to the store. They didn't know that I had what they ended up buying. For what its worth, I have the marquee gallery at the bottom of my listing. (Personally, I don't like having things at the top of an auction that I am looking at, I want to find out about the item and the seller first.)

Hi Curtis,

I use the Vendio Gallery, the scrolling one, (I think it's called Marquee) at the top of my listings. My hits and bids have definitely increased since I started it.

For the money I don't think it can be beat!

I'm just a part-time, small volumne seller - but I have noticed more people bidding on more than one of my auctions at a time. Of course, I can't prove that it's because of the gallery, but I think it might be.
I have mine at the top of my auctions.

You might not be getting much response because this has been discussed several times before.

I use the Marquee and its posted at the top at my auctions. I get more multiple sales than I use to and opening an E-Bay store has increased my sales too. I went with a store because I now have so much inventory it would cost me a fortune in fees if I had to pay 35 cents a listing on everything. The trick is to sell several items to as many customers as you can.

Thanks everyone for your comments

etexbill,
Sorry to hear about the slow down. I hope it picks up for you now that Labor Day has passed.

Kevinatgrannys,
I'm using the same layout, marquee type gallery at the bottom of my listing. I agree with your reason for placement at the bottom. My wife suggest that I place it on the top. I don't have an ebay store but I do have a Vendio store. What makes the Ebay store a better value then the Vendio store? Traffic in my vendio store is dead and always has been.

OhMsLucy,
Perhaps placement is the key. Location , location , location! I think I'll try placing it on top next time around and see what happens.

cherishedclutter,
I went back 8 pages looking for this subject and only found one string concerning the Gallery. The subject was about what pictures are included in the Gallery.

MAH645, Another ebay store user. I think I'm going to double check the differance between Ebay and Vendio Stores. I can remember why I picked the Vendio store over the ebay store it's been so long ago.

Thanks again to all, Your comments have been most helpful.

Curtis

Curtis,

I tried it at the bottom and decided the top was better.

Trying to decide now whether to open an eBay store. I have a whole lot of things that are more-or-less related and that might be the best way to sell them.

Give the Gallery a try - it's not a big expense.

Like Lucy, I have the marquee--and at the top, too. Because it's slower to load, though, than the rest of my auction, I also suggest in the description that they look at similar items (when applicable) in my Vendio Gallery at top of page.

As soon as I tried out the gallery I had lots more hits and I believe more multiple bids. Like a previous post here, I have more buyers getting more than one item from me at a time.

Love the Vendio Gallery!

curtisj3, thanks. But, as I've posted in other threads, after 5 years of selling on eBay, I will not be selling there again unless things really change. I will be selling strictly on my dealers site.

I don't have the Gallery. I have too many listings for it to be effective and the cost is astronomical when you are talking about 4,000 listings (3,700 are in my ebay store). I can tell you why the eBay store could be more effective than the Vendio store - exposure!

While the store listings do not ordinarily show in a regular ebay search, they will come up if less than 10 auctions items match the search. You are allowed to prominently promote and link to your ebay store in your auction listings. This is the most effective way of getting buyers to look at your store - the Vendio gallery is a great way of bringing people in to the ebay store!

I think there is a growing awareness/acceptance of the "stores" concept among ebay buyers. They are able to "BUY IT NOW" and don't have to wait for an auction to end or worry about snipers etc.

Store listings are cheap ( 9.95/month subscription and .02/month listing + .01 gallery. It's still necessary to run auctions to bring people into your store.

Anyway - I rambled more than I intended. Good luck!

Can you use the Vendio Gallery for your auctions only? And not your eBay Store listings?

Lucy
