I just got an email from eBay wishing me a Happy Anniversary... so I checked my account... and sure enough, I had joined back on 9/15/96. (should it surprise me that eBay's email was a couple days late?)
eBay sure has changed a lot over 8 years! Thankfully all of you great people on this board have helped to make the changes easier to adjust to. So, thank you all... and I hope that we all can continue to have many more years of profitable eBay sales!!!

Congrats EAG!! Don't you miss the good old days when you could list your used dishtowel and people would get into a bidding war over it.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

EAG: This makes you one of the senior folks here. Congratulations. This is truly an accomplishment, in my book.

PayPal didn't have fees either when they started, they made money on the 'float'. Ahh the good old days...but everything changes...darn it.

Congrats! My 8 year anniversary is in March...I remember when ebay was one of the players on the field, certainly could not have guessed how big they would become!
