I have road runner and I downloaded Shipping Assistant yesterday. I tried to use it but it says I need a proxy server. Can someone explain that? I had no problem with my dial up.

When you open the program, look on the very first screen that comes up. Toward the bottom it reads "Use your Windows/Internet Explorer proxy settings", with a box. Check the box and you shouldn't have any problems...
Hope this helps!

Okay I think I know my problem but----When I typed the label and said to display, my acrobat reader came up and then left. I have a firewall that doesn't allow certain websites to come up unless I say it is okay but I don't get the prompt with the acrobat reader. Do I need to down load that again?
This is what the pop up box said
"There is a problem trying to use the image display module
Use an external image viewer application to view the labels".
If I have to download acrobat reader again where do I find it. Thanks

Downloading Acrobat may help - certainly worth a try! Here is a link to the latest Acrobat download...

There was an issue with my SA when I re-downloaded it after re-formatting my computer, and this seems similar to what happened to me. I downloaded Acrobat and it worked - hope it works for you!

Well it worked - But - I can't print the label with my road runner on as it freezes up. So I have to unhook Road runner to print. I have to do that with other things also. The connection between my scanner and printer doesn't work either unless I unhook my cable.
Anyone have Road Runner and how do you like it? My opinion for what it is worth I think it is terrible. I have a slower on speed than I did with my dial up. The only thing that loads faster is my images to vendio and I really don't care about that. It seems like nothing is smooth. When I type a paragraph I almost type the whole thing before it shows up. Maybe it is my system but thank goodness I haven't given up my dial up yet. I am going to call cable tomorrow and if they can't help me it is back to dial up. Thanks for letting me vent.

You are very welcome
I used to have Roadrunner, and absolutely hated it. I switched to Earthlink cable (through Time Warner) and absolutely love it. I don't use any of the "bells and whistles" from Earthlink, though. I use Internet Explorer with NO EL start page, no EL toolbar, nothing. I use Outlook Express for email (absolutely hate webmail!). I have Norton Internet Security, so don't have to fool with any of the EL "features".
I had too much down time with RR, seems like either the internet or email was down way too often. My connection was much slower too with RR. I have had EL for about four years, and no complaints at all.
Just my opinion and experience, though

I had RR up in BOSTON, & it was "OK" only -- better than dial-up, but not by a real big bunch!
I have COMCAST here in JAX & it is outstanding -- very fast & reliable. I really love the wireless home networking -- I can surf on my PC in the l-room, & Ralphie can surf on his laptop in the bedroom...KEWL!

That is interesting. I am having the same problem except only on my dial up computer. If I print, it will knock me off line.
My cable computer I have never had any trouble with the USPS print function.

Yes classicrock it does and it loads faster than my road runner. Maybe because I am still on windows 98 I don't know but RR seems to be slow to load. When I call tech support they tell me my connection is good. When the tech was here he said we couldn't have 3 TV's hooked to cable so he unhooked one but it still is slow. I still have a couple of months at $29.00 so I will see if things change. I wish they would because it is nice to have a telephone when your on the computer.
I have done everything possible with my scanner and printer. I deleted them and reformated them again but still to no avail. Thank goodness I don't do much on eBay. Why I went to the shipping assistant was if I have to go to the post office why should I pay PayPal extra for a First Class Shipping label. Most of my items are first class. I would rather have the money go into my pocket than theirs. 20 cents isn't much but when you sent 10 packages it does add up. I think the reason we sell on eBay is to make money not to make PayPal richer.
