I don't see any promotions from E-bay lately. No FP listings at 10 cents...nothing. My sales are o.k. but there are several items I'd like to run to get rid of to clear out my inventory. Must be E-Bay is making money hand over fist.

It never ceases to amaze me that people feel ebay owes them these specials listing days...Don't you get it, they do it when it is in their best interest, i.e. times that are going to be slow listing times. I doubt we will see anything going into the Christmas shopping season. If 20 cents is going to make a difference in listing something for sale, chances are your business model needs some adjustment.

Last year there was a 10 cent FP listing day in November (probably around Thanksgiving - can't remember when exactly). Sounds like everyone thinks sales are unusually slow for the time of year - I have to think that listings and FVF's are down - (and no, I dont think Overstock.com is the reason). Maybe we will see something this year too. I hate to relist in this market!
Edited to add - Looked up the 2003 Fall FP day - it was November 18th (7 day auctions ended 11-25).

I have quit worrying about "Free Listings, etc" I list once a week, usually about 15 to 20 auctions. Last week I sold 16 of 19 items. My insertion fees are usually 55 cents. I can stand that without a blink. The only reason that eBay does these promos is when there is a dip in the number of auctions being posted. They keep all kinds of data & can predict when there will be a slow down, i.e. just before a major holiday etc.
