This is hard to believe, I was astounded. I received a money order the other day, with a note saying it was payment for eBay auction #so & so. I was already on eBay so I checked, and could find no such auction. Then I checked my Auction Management Program, Auction Tamer, and couldn't believe, the payment was for an auction won on December 12, 2002!
Fortunately, I still carry the item, so their order will be filled, but I am wondering what caused them to pay after 2 years!!!!

After a few months, yeah, but a few years? I assume the payment was sent recently and not lost in the mail for 2 years.

JW, you have to be pulling our leg!
Are you really going to ship something to someone for a 2 year old auction? Did you not NPB them 2 years ago?
How old is the money order? They have an effective expiration date ya know. Plus it sounds like this person is either a kook or I don't know what.
Ithink Iwould have to make contact with them before I would ship them anything. I would darn sure make certain that MO was valid before Ishipped any merchandise.
There is just something about this that sounds to weird.

It is a new Money Order, watermarks & everything. The envelope reflects a recent mailing.
I did put through for a credit on the auction 2 years ago, but I still carry the item, and will ship.
The item is an inexpensive Rebel Necklace, and possibly either someone had an attack of conscious, OR it was a young person, whose parents are just becoming aware of their young person's "playing around on line," and are making them pay for what they contracted for. If it were my child, and this were the situation, I sure would, although I think I'd contact they seller to see if they still had the item.
I have already deposited the MO, but I keep photocopies of all money orders If I can pull a scan of it and the letter or envelope this weekend, I'll post it here.
I am NOT kidding! This is no joke!

This reminds me of the story about the WWII veteran that went to Europe for the 50th anniversary of the D-day invasion. He, of course, got his old uniform out of moth balls for the ceremonies and, surprisingly, it fit. As he admired it in a mirror he found an old stub for some shoes he had left with a cobbler in London during the war and never claimed.
Being in London after visiting Normandy, he looked up the cobbler shop and it was still there! He went into the shop and it was just the same as he remembered it. An old man came out of the back that looked like the cobbler, albeit 50 years older. With a straight face he presented the stub and said, "I'm here for my shoes."
The old man squinted at the stub and said, "Ah, yes, they'll be ready Tuesday."

Last year, I received a check for an eBay sale that had been in the mail for 10 months and 23 days from Atlanta GA to East Texas. My postmaster said "I guess it got held up somewhere"!! No kidding.
