I have forgotten which is used for shipping to Canada.

Is it Airmail Letter Post for packages under 4 lbs? Or is it Airmail Parcel Post regardless of lbs?

I have a 3 lbs package to go to Canada. Would it be $8.95 or $14.95?

TIA

ewora, that is where I got the prices that I listed.

I remember that if you had a box that weighed less than 4 lbs. then you could send it a certain way (cheaper, letter/package post).

Yer packie is UNDER 4 lbs, so you can ship EITHER AIRMAIL LETTER POST or AIRMAIL PARCEL POST...

LETTER POST is EASIER & CHEAPER: ye can use the simple GREEN customs form as opposed to that big WHITE thingy required for PARCEL POST...

HOWEVER, if the VALUE is greater than $400, ye want to use PARCEL POST...

HOWEVER, if ye want to use USPS INSURANCE, ye want to use PARCEL...

HOWEVER, ye can get around this by using LETTER POST sent REGISTERED, but ya just added $8-$10 to the price...

SIMPLE, huh??

It's so clear when you say it that way.

It's actually over the 36" limit so Parcel Post it is.

Thanks,

As usual, tomwii is wrong. The difference between letter post and parcel post is the size of the package. You must measure your box first, then weigh it. You can pick your options from there. He is also 100% wrong about which customs form is needed. You need the green one for parcels under 4 pounds. You need the white one for any parcel over 4 pounds. If the letter post item is over $400, then you also need to fill out the white form as well as the green one. The white copy goes in the box. The green one goes on the box.
