IMO, he should be made to change his user ID. It is in violation. I think it's a cheap trick to get around not being able to put a link to your website in your auctions. Simple. I don't see what defense he has.
Sorry if anyone disagrees with me, but we have a hard enough time selling things as it is without having people's website addresses as their user names.

Good lord! I read the thread about this on the ebay store board.
Ebay is "broken" in so many ways I certainly wouldn't use this as an example of one! The guy clearly was trying to get around ebay's no url user name policies and someone turned him in..doesn't this happen every day with VERO violations??
Ebay's search is broken, PayPal is broken, ebay's billing system is broken, ebay's customer service stinks, ebay's approach to security issues is deplorable...wish those things would get the news coverage and not some trivial thing like this!
I have to agree with Friknfrak...I still love ebay and think all of these things can be fixed. It is the world's greatest marketplace - I just get so tired trying to think of workarounds for all the glitches
