If you responding to an "Ask the seller a question" emails: when you respond, there is a little box under the message area that you can click that will allow the question & your response to it appear at the bottom of your auction.

this is when someone just asks a question and I didn't check the box. They say I didn't respond. Can ebay tell me if I responded?

Sorry, I don't think they can.
This is one reason why, when I respond to question put to me through eBay that I actually answer twice: I C&P my response into a regualr email and send that as well. That way, a copy of it is deposited in my "sent email" folder.

I think the buyer doesn't look at the auction description page to see our response at the VERY bottom of the page. And I've wondered if they get a separate e-mail copy of the reply, too, since I sometimes hear from one that he/she didn't get a response from me. Bunni's idea is a good one.

I don't know about you, but I had a question this past week and have sent 4 emails, in a variety of ways and it is always returned to me.
I am assuming her/his email address is incorrect.
This is inconvenience enough, but they had requested some more photos and I had spent about an hour doing a dozen photos - I kept hoping I would get another email, with a different email address.

Yes, you can. If click on the "respond" button, and the scroll down. You will see all of the questions and answers for that particular auction that you answered.
posted on October 23, 2004 12:11:35 PMTwice a day, I run through all my “active” auctions to check and see if there are any questions posted. If there are, I respond right on eBay, and mark that the reply be posted on my auction, and an e-mail sent to the customer.
Using this system, I have never had a customer say I didn’t reply, and I just ignore the eBay e-mail questions when they come in, as I KNOW I have already answered them directly on e-bay and answered the question, and it is posted on the auction IN CASE someone else has the same question, posting it on your auction, cuts down on questions
I love this approach, and it also reminds me of information, which perhaps I never considered necessary or useful, but that customers wish to know.
P.S. When you answer directly on eBay AND have your response posted on your auction, there is NO QUESTION regarding the fact that you responded to the question!
