I just looked at my Service Plans for my accounts. One account showed that I had "chosen" image watermarking. I have NEVER chosen that and have now deleted that "choice." What alarms me is that we may have to be checking our account(s) regularly to be sure we haven't "chosen" something else!

I agree that this is incredible - and since they are charging out credit cards - I'm not sure it's totally legal.
Did Vendio clearly announce that they were going to change our preferences. If so I must have missed it!!!
I have a second account which has been inactive for 8 or 9 months and due to this "New Image Charge" I got bill $5.00 for one photo that should not have been there anyway. Seems someone had been viewing it so it didn't get deleted. How or why I don't know!!

My account showed that I had "chosen" watermarking also. I haven't checked yet to see if it is on my bill, sure hope not.

Well I am totally stumped - I thought I was on the $12.95 all these years but I went all the way back to 2002 and I have been on the pay as you go plan at least since then?? I could have sworn that I signed up for the $12.95 plan. Guess I need to check my REALLY old invoices.

Frankly, I've never been so disappointed in Vendio. I've loved Vendio for years. Now I'm rethinking the service.

I have left Vendio after several years. I haven't used it in at least 4 months, had 34 old pics that I had forgotten about, and just had $23.50 taken from my bank account.

Mine says pay as you go.......nothing else was marked like that watermark thing. it DOES say in my,,,,,Standard images thing that I have 0.13 standard images (including recycle bin) I can't find any pictures, that's the GOOD. Maybe I have not looked in the right places. I cannot find the recycle bin. Does it sound like I have all pictures deleted? what does 0.13 mean? available or I am USING that someplace? I contacted vendio to clear this up also.......

so so, I guess.......

Jack - better check your bill - bet you've been charged. You can apply for a credit but it may not be given - can't seem to get a straight answer on that one!
I went back and checked and I was on the standard plan at one time - I don't know how this happened but I don't think I changed it - really I don't. Guess I can't do much about it now.
But I WILL BE CHECKING MY BILL from now on

Jack - go to the "Image Hosting" on the left hand side and then go down to "Recycle Bin" and go from there

It sounds to me like Vendio has a default setting for watermarking when you choose (or change) plans. I have read MANY threads with objection to the watermarking service that was never ordered...couldn't be that many people making mistakes!

Hi samplingman,

Even though you had not listed in a while, you must have been set to a new Image Hosting plan because you still had live images in your account.

If you know you'll be taking break from selling, we recommend that you delete all your images from your folders AND the Recycle Bin. The go to My Service Plans under My Account, select Image Hosting from the left navigation bar, and click the discontinue link on the page. When you're ready to sell again, however, you must sign back up for an Image Hosting plan again using the same page.

I was on the Pay As You Go plan too. I was just charged for an Image Hosting plan. I NEVER signed up for an image hosting plan, as I already have an image host, and have for years.

I don't know what Vendio's credit card company charges them to dispute a chargeback, but if $3.61 actually shows up on my credit card, they'll hear about it.

Vendio isn't the phone company. They can't get away with hidden charges ;(

Hi all,

It's great we have a user community that supports each other. I'd just like to clear up a few things:

1. Notification of changes. We've posted several responses in the SM & Ihost forum discussing how we appropriately notified users. We have tens of thousands of users, and some people are going to miss our efforts no matter what.

2. Confusing pricing. Please keep in mind the plan is this way to keep Image Hosting FREE for Sales Manager and Stores users. The simpler plan would have been to charge everyone more.

3. Image Hosting plans are now completely separate from Sales Manager. You can discontinue Image Hosting and still keep your grandfathered Pay As You Go plan. But you won't be able to work with images unless you enable Image Hosting again.

4. Image Hosting plans are now based on peak storage, e.g., the 3 MB plan accommodates any storage from 0 - 3 MB. This means you'll be charged even if your storage is zero. This is the industry convention for storage-based pricing that you'll find at any other vendor.

5. At the start of new Image Hosting pricing, we did not convert people to an Image Hosting plan unless they had active images in their accounts.

Regards,

Chuck

I've never seen anything so difficult to cancel. I've deleted my pics, cleared the recycle bin, finally found how to cancel the image hosting program, have written asking to cancel my account, and I'm still shown with image hosting and a $12.95/month program. It's off to notify my bank to not honor their charges.

etexbill,

Image Hosting is managed/discontinued in My Account > My Service Plans where all services are managed. All users should know to go their to manage their accounts.

Also, just thought you should know that you were still receiving free image hosting under our new pricing. You were fully refunded $6.63 for Image Hosting in October, and you would have received a full refund for $9.95 in November.

Your first bill was higher because Image Hosting is a prepay as is Vendio policy on subscriptions to reduce fraud. The 10/20 charge would have been refunded in November, making Image Hosting free.

Regards,

Chuck

Well, that's exactly where I went to manage my account, besides eMailing you in your customer service address. Strange, I haven't seen any refunds, only a charge.

And Chuck, I beg to differ. I just re-checked my account and there is no refund from your company in any amount in September or October. Only the charge.

And now that you have set the tone for this discussion, any company of your size should know how to make a refund. Where is my $6.63??

Ok. so I saw the discontinue image hosting. what then happens if I click on it and do whatever it says? No more fees? I flat out don't use vendio except to be abused on this board, self inflicted pain...

You choose it this time I dunno nothin'.

etexbill,

Please look again since I think you're missing it. Go to your Online Statements, click on the 10/20/04 tab, then look 4 lines down to read:

Image Hosting Credit $6.63

This exactly matches the $6.63 charge above it meaning your Image Hosting was free for October.

There's also a $9.95 Image Hosting charge but that's for next month 10/21/04 - 11/20/04. We precharge as a general policy to cut down on fraud accounts. The refund for this amount will appear in your November bill. At your current plans, you should get a full refund every month, keeping Image Hosting free for you.

Regards,

Chuck

I don't give a flying hoot about my "online statement". Why did you take $23.00 from my bank account when I haven't used Vendio in months. And how about eMailing me like any good business should.

P.S. And I'd better not get a November bill.
