Ever since I put in XP, I have not been able to receive emails from anyone with AOL. I received a neg because I didn't answer a complaint. How could I answer something I never saw?

Check your Firewall settings and see if aol is blocked.

Sanmar: I have XP and no trouble receiving AOL messages. Trouble getting them through to buyers, though, as mentioned in this forum many times.

{sigh} i always feel SO bad when i hear about "ao-hell" problems for 'other people' .... I have been with AOL since Hector was a pup, and i wouldn't trade it for anything ... I love it, I send and receive 99.99999999% of all correspondence ... I don't KNOW why 'others' aol and non-aol's have problems ...

Sanmar, what ISP service do you use? Check YOUR junk filters and change the settings so they dont automatically delete what it perceives as spam mail. Or maybe add an aol address to the 'safe list' or whatever version of what your ISP calls it and they might then get through to you. Worst case, open a hotmail account for your ebay mail or something?

Hi Sanmar. Do you use outlook for your email? I dont know what program youre using, but most of the ISP's now a days have a junk filter which automatically detects what they think is spam and sometimes it sends aol mail to it. Whatever program youre using check your 'Email settings' you might find something you can adjust there.

I have aol for 8yrs and never missed an email or had troubles sending to anyone,. except for the new auction site, OS I had to uncheck my spam filter setting just to receive there emails.

So it might be possible that your settings need to be changed, I would do what neroter12
is suggesting.

The servers set defaults for you and they don't always work for your benefit like they should, some need to be customed set for your needs.

As for AOL, I am a happy camper and would not change over to any other server, even my Optium on line I just let it hook me up but through AOL.
