I noticed my sales are alot slower in the last week than they have been and bids were way down. Maybe it was what I listed. My store did ok over the weekend.

In Sept. I had a 98% sell through. I couldn't keep up with it. In Oct. was about 70% and Nov is about 50%. I think it depends on what you sell. Now is the Christmas season and people are buying Christmas gifts but not as much for themselves. I guess that is the reason for the slow down. Again it depends on what you are selling...I think.

Last 10 days have been TERRIBLE -- few sales, & those that DO sell, are 50% (dat's RIGHT: 50%) deadbeats!

Death! We have 125 items listed today and only 4 have bids. And we sell in so many different catagories.

We did open up a store and at least sold four items from our deadstock!

Off to the work force this week. Have to beg for a job.

Or have to keep my head down and look for change in the gutter!

Any time that eBay is offering a sales promo (1c gallery, FLD, etc.) you can be sure that sales are slowing. With the US dollar is in decline you might want to look abroad for sales. We love Euros and Yen!

don't forget GBP Agit - current exchange rate is thru PayPal is just over 1.80.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Neglus - Agit was probably referring to the ebay.uk promotion last week - free listing for items starting at 99p or under.

There is a terrible lack of bidders right now. I am guessing that is why eBay offered the FLD in the UK. Could a FLD in Canada or Austrailia be soon to follow.?

listed 4 items Sun/last night.
Have had tons of lookers.
1 item just closed with 720 lookers and a BIN of $1,100.00.
So far a good week!

Listing counts are up over a million from a week ago.

So much for getting any good promos.

Listing count is up mainly due to the UK FLD.

Dad, are you selling the government seizure items they found this week in Miami?

No:
It was an Ebay motors item.

I do well there when I can get the right items.

My sales have picked up, but I can see where part of the problem is.

I was searching through eBay for a couple of items my granddaughter wants for Christmas. One is a ballet studio, the other a Bratz pet. They are priced far higher by the eBay sellers than they are on Toys r Us through Amazon. One seller wants $65.99 for what I paid $39.99 for. That's just plain nuts. The Bratz pet was also priced higher on eBay. I'm wondering if these sellers do their homework online? Even if you don't have a Toys R Us near you, you can still shop online with them. If I added in the shipping from these other sellers, I'd be paying far, far too much for the items.

It gets even worse if you want just the ballet studio without the outfit. One seller is selling at about $44, Toys R Us is $24.99.

I wanted to try to do my Christmas shopping on eBay, but at that rate there's no way. The object is to save money.

Just a thought.

I haven't been posting a lot because I have a new wholesale place that opened near here and I've been spending a lot of time between there and my job. That and answering a lot of emails from dismayed people around the country.

Well I can tell ya all this is a DEMOCRATIC PLOT !! Since the election, all democrats have refused to bid on Ebay causing low sales, lost jobs, mass suicides among sellers, famine and riots in the streets-and the democrats are going to blame the Bush adminstration. I know this to be true because Stone told me.

Speaking of plots...

Come on, Cheryl: time to fess-up:

Just HOW MANY times did YOU vote for Dumbo anyway??

LOL, tomwiii. Voter fraud appears to be rampant. I can honestly say, in the past 3.5 years, I have never voted for a Bush. I prefer trees myself.

Anyway, not to take this too off subject, but I have left the RT and found something better this morning. No nastiness, at least not yet. No vulgar name calling either. Out of respect for Vendio I won't mention it here.

All I can say is even though my sales have perked up, it's still a bit on the slow side. I just bought more from another site. Free shipping makes it very attractive.

BTW, found a new tag line. I hope it's more "loving" and less offensive. Not that I really give a you-know-what. Just thought it was cute. Now, if I could just get my hands on the poster!

I was thinking that with the election up in the air, sales would be slower...

But now that the good guy won (and thus America) and more promise for the economy, I figured sales would pick up...

I'm thinking a bit closer to Thanksgiving and after the stress of almost going socialist wears off, we'll be ok...

I was going to buy some of the the new Beatles Cds (Alpha and Omega) 3 CD set 60 Songs. They wholesale for $15.00 Each, they were doing great on E-Bay until some Dog Breath started selling them for $10.00. Thats always my luck. I bought some of the Wiggles Cds and before mine even got here the price dropped on E-Bay. Its hard for me to find something that someone else isn't giving away. I have bought the last of the audio books so now I have to find something new.

Cheryl, love the poster. I had to laugh at the sig line. If you had not told me it came from an old war poster, I would have thought it was a quote from my teenage years.

I thought it would pick up but I am sure the country is shell shocked and all the red states are too busy insulating their mobile homes to afford bidding.

Sales have been slow since August. We tend to sell larger items $300+. Prior to August we would sell 1/15 if items listed. Now, it is fewer than 1/30 and they tend to be at the lower end of the price scale. EBAY fees are costing us 25% of sales and the selling price is going down.

It's tough
