Anyone using this new browser yet? How do you like it compared to IE?

It's like comparing The Dollar Store to Nordstrom.

Jperton is right. Firefox has SOOOO many features IE is lacking. Tabbed browsing will change your life. The pop-up blocker is great. The live bookmarks are fun. There are many other things, but I would have switched just for the tabbed browsing alone.

My brother told me to start using this browser. Hopefully it will work with all the programs/sites I use.

I use Firefox some when IE has problems. For whatever reason every once in a while IE will stick opening a site. However, AdShield is only available for IE and it's the best ad blocker because you can block whole sites but also can surgically block only the ad directories or just annoying individual images. Also I like how IE maintains all the page and history information when you open a new browser by doing a File/New/Window.

I have been using it for 2 weeks, works great. Read the article in today's USA TODAY.

I also use it and LOVE it! I also love the extensions that you can add to it! Great stuff! Some things load differently than IE and every once in a while I run into pages that won't work so I "have" to use IE. However, make sure that if you use Pay Pal's shipping label you have the Pop-up Blocker off at that time. (Real easy, Tools>options>web features. Check or uncheck) I love the image magnifier extension as well. I don't have to guess at tiny pictures anymore!

Kevin,
I believe instead of turning off the pop-up blocker before going to paypal you can click at the top of the browsing window and choose to let the pop-up through. You can also choose to let all paypal pop-ups get through.

Thanks!!! Still learning. So many smart things in Firefox. After using IE all these years I am having to try and remember what I wanted "way back when".

Unfortunatley there are so many people that are afraid to try something new that Microsoft will probably rule the browser market for quite a while. Its hard to believe how many problems some people can have with IE yet they refuse to try something new.

Firefox 1.0 came out yesterday, & there were so many downloads the system almost crashed. I downloaded this morning. Mozilla has joined with Google to promote Firefox.

I've been using Firefox for about two weeks and it's great but I do have two questions maybe someone can answer.
1. How do you leave shortcuts on the desktop or is that possible? Bookmarks can be a lot of trouble unless you want something permanent.
2. I set up the default with three tabs while experimenting with FF when I first downloaded it. How do I eliminate these three tabs when I bring up FF?
Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

Drag and drop it from the address bar.
