She must have had the experience lots of us have had--an item of ours has 25 hits, no bids, and doesn't sell. But she won't get people to do what she wants this way! Watchers who are sellers with a similar item are part of the game on Ebay, and we all have to roll with it.

I wonder if Rusty Gumbo's plan to end sniping is working.
Care to post in light of this plaintive cry from a frustrated seller?
I have one item with 5 watchers and climbing.
We shall see.
If ebay would just add counters, I wouldn't have to deal with andale at all!

Suspect a lot of the watchers have the same or similar item and are watching to see what your auction will bring in bids - if anything

This "Watch feature" was never anything to take seriously, it dose not make sense having it anyway, years ago you just bid when you saw what you liked. But now today with the watch feature, most sellers are lucky if they get one LAST min. bid.
I never pay attention to how many are watching, and I don't care if they want to see what something sells for, because that's what this whole crazy business is about. It is a numbers Game, and as for those who buy by the box lot ......well they can sell an item for 1.00 ........but I never care what someone else is listing the item for and If I have the same item I just list it for what I need to get, and many times I get the bid and the cheaper priced one dose not sell. Maybe if I was able to buy by the box lot I might list it for a $1.00 too........lol
Anyway, I do feel bad for the seller thinking she could control other sellers, but its kinda not nice making fun at her either, just take care of your business and stop worry about how someone else dose business............This is what I feel.

I agree the "watch" feature is non-helpful. Frequently an item of mine will sell when there were just a handful of watchers, and often an item that had 20-50 watchers doesn't sell, or sells at a low price.
Only time I pay attention to that feature is if an auction of mine has NO watchers AND no hits. Then I know I need to tweak the title or price.
