I have set up sbout 20 auctions to start on 12-23. My sweetie & I are leaving that morning for Seattle for a week. All of my auctions are 10 day so we will be back befor they end. I will be able to monitor them while there. I have done this 3 years running & it has worked AOK for me. Anyone else ever tried this?

I launch auctions while I'm on vacation all the time. I always schedule them to give myself at least an extra day to answer any question that I may have to eyeball the item for.

No one has ever complained that I couldn't answer a question right away because I'm away from the item.

Kind of like making money while your own vacation.

I also do it all the time! Of course, now that I have a laptop, I stay attached to the auctions & emails at least once a day.

If you have access to a computer, you can check your email on their pc via webmail. Most ISP servers offer Webmail. Usually it is something like - webmail.isp.com. Then you will log in & see your messages - works great!

Happy Holidays.

Sanmar...If any of those auctions are for high dollar opening bid items, you might want to consider scheduling those to launch on the 26th. If that turns out to be FLD, you could save a bunch on fees.

I list all the way through New Year's. Folks are in a festive and buying mood all through the holidays. My first listing ever was Dec. 23, 1999.

I've been doing that every February when we go to Florida for a week. I just take my lap top to check on everything. Been doing that for 3 years and have never had any problems. I schedule them to end the day after we get back.

I was wondering this today since I didn't sell on ebay in past years:

Is it smart or not smart to sell between now and New Years?

Did people already spend all their money already?

Is there a lull right after New Years? If so when do you think it is smart to start selling again?

I really do need the advice.
Thank you and Happy Holidays!.

Yes it is very smart. It usually is the 2nd busiest selling time of the year with buyers looking for those after Christmas bargains.
