I've come to look at these ebay listing events as a sort of sport - list til I drop! I'm cranking out the listings now - WHOOOOOOOOOOOPEEEEEEEEEEEEE and getting REALLY punchy!! Is anyone else out there in Vendio-land?

I'm not sure what you guys mean by "listing".
I don't know about all of you folks, but I know Neglus used Vendio. How long does it take to launch all those pre-made inventory items to eBay? An all-nighter?
I read the announcement around 9pm here and had nearly 2000 items launched within half an hour (stupid 10 cent listing fee... I atually had around SIX thousand ready to go but changed my mind on a lot of them). I know some of you DON'T use a listing management service, but I know many of you do. Are some of these services THAT time-consuming?
Or do you mean actually creating new listings? We all pretty much expected some kind of "free" listing day was coming, so can't be a big surprise.

I am still at it! First of all I have to make sure that I actually HAVE the postcards I am listing - I have gotten burned before by relisting without the card in hand...then I have to find where they are in my "unsold items" - not too bad because I file my items by date (no search for unsold items). I am relisting items from the Fixed Price sales earlier in the month and I actually have to edit each one individually (800+) to change the format from Fixed Price to auction (Will have to do it again to change to store format) PITA!!

I am a small seller compared to most of you, but I have been busy relisting (and editing them one by one) 60+ old closed auctions and store items. Now I am busily creating new ones. I need to clean these older things out and 10 cent day inspired me. I use Vendio so they won't actually launch until later today. Happy listing everyone!

Replay: Many of us here sell unique collectibles and books. Writing up each listing is time consuming, and we rarely have duplicates. I've got my grown son's little diecast cars to sell and have listed them this week, but even so each one needs a photo or two, then boiler plate paragraphs with the car's description in a line or two at top. That's the easiest I've ever had it. Usually it takes a lonnnnnng time to list a few unique collectibles. Hope this answers your question.

Neglus,
No, I am an early riser and went to bed at 10 last night. Got up and started posting at 6. A few breaks and finished about 4000 posts at 11. I may do more later but since its not free my totals will be about half of last year. Chuck

I got fed up with editing every FP to make auction again so just scehduled as FP. I HATE THAT VENDIO DOESN"T DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS!!!!
I am relisting what hasn't sold since 11/30 amd the FP unsold items - I guess I have about 1200 items and that's enough for me! Good to start the new year with all new listings!

Neglus - I hate to say this but that is another problem that you would not run into on Works
When you set up your inventory listing on an item you can enter both a minimum bid price and a BIN amount. When you launch your auctions you can choose to launch them as a regular auction style with or without the BIN feature or as a Fixed Price listing using the BIN amount.
Oh yeah.... you know those FLD for items .99 and below that have everyone losing their minds, not to mention sleep, updating items so that they qualify? Works solved that problem too with their bulk field changing option. Select a field (could be price, could be shipping, whatever field you want to choose) enter the change and it is made acrosss the board. What used to take hours now takes just a few clicks.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

[Edited to remove the direct link that was probably innappropriate here.]
Assuming you use under 100Meg of images, it's basically either $29.95 a month or 2% of sales, whichever is higher. There are no listing fees other than whatever the auction site charges.
If you have more than 100 Megs, the base price goes up, but not a lot. Generally if you have that many images, you're a pretty big seller and the 2% base will probably come into play instead.

Those of you that don't create and use the import tools from AM Pro to batch list should consider it. With a spreadsheat that has columns set up for fixed price,eBay auctions, image etc properly filled it you can easliy import and batch list any of the choices Vendio allows, (fixed price, auction style, ebay motors and Vendio store). I did this when I first started 5 years ago and still use my original listings(unsold items). This morning I was ready to launch about 9000 listings but since eBay backed out of a free day I chose to cut my lower priced items out. It took me 5 hours to import and upload from my desktop the 4000 I listed. Without the need to review all the listings and sort the lower priced ones out It would have taken me 2-3 hours If you really want to save time and end the constant retyping try it. You will always be ready for eBay promotions.

Well i live on the east coast and I had to work today ~ I have had over a week off for Christmas and if eBay had done this on Sunday...
So I had to get up at 6 a.m. and I couldn't stay up all night last night.
I just got home from work and I had to go to the doctor (if it's not one thing it's another!) and I'm now going to start to list.
If I can just get the stuff listed that I've scanned in the last couple of days I'll be happy.
I'd like to list some extra but my goal is for what i worked on scanning over Chrsitmas

Well, now I can SLEEP tonite -- FAT-BOY is home at last!
A truly touching reunion -- mucho hugging & kissing & romping thru a field of daisies ( )...
We exchanged presents -- CLOTHES from me to him...NOTHING from him to me (the cheap spoiled BRAT)!
Now we can settle back into our comfy bachelor-geezer existance -- all is well with the world...
