Has anybody noticed that eBay's search function has combined plural and non-plural item?

As a bidder, I don't like it. As a seller, I don't like it either. I think it makes it tougher for someone to find what they are looking for.

There are specific obscure items that I used to be able to find, but now I get ton of results that make the items harder to find.

I've noticed this, too. But it only combines on certain key words, not on all. If you put your word in quotes you can still get a more narrow search.

I think it combines for all word ending with the letter "s". Examples: card/cards, postcard/postcards, stamp/stamps, etc.

It is so annoying, I only search a fraction of the time of what I used, and subsequently bid less.

I disagree. I find that it helps buyers find my items better. I often have plurals in my auctions where a bidder may only type in the singular word will still be able to find my plural listing. It clearly helps the seller by giving buyers that impulse item.

I like it. If you are a seller you no longer have to put coin/coins, plate/plates etc. in the title line and that saves space for other key words.

I always found that stamp*, for example, worked perfectly well for the problem. feebay is dumbing down.

I really don't like it. What if a buyer is looking for a single specific plate, or stamp, or postcard? The last thing they need is a bunch of items not related when they are looking for something specific. For every impluse buyer that is gained, a qualified buyer may be lost.

stamp* or (stamp, stamps) worked perfectly well for searching, without eBay making plural and singular items manitory for all searches.
