Jack, did you see that thing for the 99 cents sellers? I will have to pull up the link to let you know what I mean..and of course I've already got five/six windows open and no idea what browser I stuck it in, but its supposed to be like a connection thing where you put a link on your about me page, so if a buyer hits one sale (yours) for .99 they can link to others of .99 cents maybe (mine?)

Unsure of where buyers are with low price padding shipping though, but was thinking about trying it.

I have to admit I have been checking out craigslist more - I've never sold anything that way, I have noticed that the buy prices though are way too high for things I have looked for, even if I wasn't a reseller but wanted it for myself. I guess with free you get what you pay for.

I was pretty far gone last night when I got that idea but! Simple. Just like those "Estate Sales". Many of you have mentioned that are NOT estate sales at all. Rent a for sale vacant house fill it full of stuff and they call it an estate sale...

Same with this non paid storage rental idea.

Last week I went to this VERY same kind of auction in a storage place. U lock it U store it. The owners were NOT behind on the rent,,they just had no desire to take the junk in the unit and KNEW about auctions on that property. They contacted the auctioneer and he said, No problem, next auction I will tell them of this unit. You say you want a $1000.00 opening bid? O.k. It worked! he got them $1400.00 for all his junk. The auctioneer got a cut, and the storage place had a re rentable unit.

perfect! Same with me, I have a HUGE industrial building.....they can ONLY look from the door,,just like in a storage place auctions...and the bidding begins,,,Reserve of mine for example $7000.00. Beleive me these kinds of numbers are NOT unusual in Los Angeles for non paid rent storage units.

Good luck!

Post an ad once a week for two consecutive weeks in a local newspaper of general circulation. A storage unit manager can give you the Calif. civil code form to use. That is what will draw the buyers with big bucks as well as making the sale look more or less legitimate.

Little more about e bay storage unit auctions,,,,the behind rent renter gets whatever ABOVE the delinquent amount in the sale...Beware, true story,,,renter stacks boxes,,,,brand new! EXPENSIVE sterio names,,,full unit! bidding is wild!!!! $1000.00's!!!! like I said before you CANNOT enter or even TOUCH the items for sale,,,,slam! the auction is OVER! Sold! to highest bidder! the renter was behind 3 months,,,,? Oh. let's say,,,,$150.00. One guess what was in those brand new boxes....

He get's ALL the money above the delinquent rent.

And,,,,,,there was nothing Illegal,,,buyers BEWARE!

One of the funniest I've seen in a long time was advertised in the local paper as a pre ESTATE SALE. I think the owner had a hangover and felt like he was going to die. At least it wasn't misleading advertising.

In Wisconsin when the storage units are for sale the potential buyer can walk into the storage unit and look in the boxes.

When you rent your storage unit don't you have to declare what you are putting in? I think if you did what you were going to do it could be fraud and most likely come back and sue you for their money.

Why not just have an old fashion going out of business sale and take what you get for your merchandise. I bet you would sleep better.

libra,,,it's not ME,,,,,Calif. you are NOT allowed to Touchy feely ANYTHING....L@@K only!

I never heard of any declaration of what people put in there, like their going to declare the 3 dead bodies found in one after that huge earthquake we had in Cal. a few years back,,,,hacked up his business partners,,,,rented a storage unit and was CERTAIN the unit was demolished hearing the horrible new from India,,,,He JUST Happened to CALL just, as the POLICE were investigating the auctioned off unit,,,,and the remains were found,,,,,He failed to pay,,,HIS Country,EXECUTED him.....

I was'nt going to do ANYTHING illegal...

Same as Libra in Wisc., in our area of Ohio, yes, the bidders are allowed to poke around for a quick look-see, then we all must stand outside the unit and the auction begins, and there is never a reserve ... (and I don't think any overage above the amount of past due rent is given to the unit's original owner, but I'm not sure ... I thought it went to the storage complex owner.)

Libra, I guess we would have to freight all our junque to Jack to dispose of for us. LOL
