Here is a chart I've found that is the best visual table for eBay Fees I've seen(inclusive of PayPal):eBay Chart
Cost as a percentage of sale's price is also provided.

Which is why handling charges were created. They definitely go a long way to reduce the % paid to process the orders.

I agree vet...many sellers don't know what the cost of doing business really is. The chart, of course, doesn't reflect it all...but its a good start.

And when you figure in the cost of unsold items, the profit made per hour worked is not very good.
But many sellers don't seem to realize (or mind) that after all of the expenses, they're only making a few bucks per hour on ebay.
I used to make about 20 bucks per hour (net profit) on ebay. Then $15. Then $10. And now about $7. Though my operation became more time efficient, hourly profit still went down. I don't see it getting any better with shipping costs increasing and ebay's bad management. Last month after they announced the new fee increases I finally said screw it and quit ebay. I'm goin' into real estate!

Great chart. Thanks for posting it
I decided about a year ago to stop with the 9.99 items and try to only auction higher price items. This chart really shows why that works.

And yet another good reason NOT to start auctions at 99 cents. I love the home page stating Start Low, Pay Less. That must have the bidders' minds going. It makes it seem like we deserve low sales for not starting our auctions at 99 cents.
