I have notice in the last month or so much less bidding towards the end...as a result auctions have been ending lower. Anyone else notice this trend?? I am used to my items being bid up right at the end and this just has not been happening lately.

Mixed results for me. Some are last-minute, others don't get any more bids after the first 1 or 2, early on.

I think bids are just down at the moment. With the new fees coming up really soon, I hope that changes.
I normally list at my rock bottom price and hope for more bids at the end but I may have to rethink that as now I'm lucky to get just one bid. I'm thinking of just starting higher

With many sellers complaining about snipers, (Many of them here) it appears that buyers instead of bidding on the last minute item are simply not bidding in fear of getting a neg for last second bidding or sellers that refuse to deal with last minute bidders. It is kind of like cutting your own throat, but ends up cutting other decent sellers as well.
Don't get discouraged. The bidders are there. Just not as many are bidding at will anymore.

A lot of the items I follow only seem to get one bid, at the starting point. I just started listing again, and only items I feel good about that can start low, and still not lose money if they only get one bid. One item regularly gets between 30-55.00 final bids; this one is still at one bid (on last day) at the 9.95 start, but has 10 "watchers". So, I suspect there will be a last minute burst of action, and that this is just the way of the world today.

Even auctions that have a bunch of "watchers" often fall short. I've had items which had 10 people watching that never got another bid. I figure some of them have the same item they want to unload and are looking to see if it's worth listing.

I certainly noted less sniping when my auctions ended during the SuperBowl, so I will definitely rethink that for the next holiday (which I think is Easter Sunday) - I love those snipers. Last week, I had a ton of activity in my last hour, I've been keeping stats and almost 18% of items available for sale got bids in the last hour. 26% of all bids came in the last hour, and it raised my total auction take by over 40%. In comparison to the SuperBowl week, only 21% of all bids came in the last hour, and my final auction take increased by only 29% - Conclusion, I think next year I should take Superbowl Sunday off! and get to enjoy the game lol

One of my 9.95 items that had 1 bid, 11 watchers up to last hour got over 40.00.

Other item didn't sell (not that surprised, even in heyday these usually would only have one bidder).

So, will list more, but just be selective about what goes on eBay.
