Just received this email about an ebay item (6509796499) from the Queen...love the tone. Did I mention she was a newbie? Usually I love newbies...but the tone.

Dear Bidder

I'm sorry you misunderstood the ad. Apparently, you also misunderstood eBay's rules and regulations as well. You may not be purchasing this item, but I will be filing a non-paying bidder alert with eBay and like they say in baseball, three strikes and you're out.

Regards,

From what I've been reading filing an NPB doesn't seem to be much of a deterent anymore. If they can cry enough to eBay, they'll reverse it.

Thats a lie cheryl-because they also say in baseball-4 balls and you walk.I can tell you right now that a man with 4 balls could not possible walk.

I just got one like that too. It just irks me to no end that people do not read the ad. They ask questions after they purchase the item then inform you that they do not want the item after all since it's not what they wanted.

Beth,

I feel your pain! I can't tell you how many times the same thing has happened to me... and they're not always newbies!!! I just don't understand it. First, I have a picture of the ad. Second, I give dimensions of the ad. Third, I tell them that this ad would look great framed and displayed. Fourth, I tell them the caption of the ad. Not to mention that the words ad and/or advertisement are used some 10+ times in the description!!!

The good news is that you probably don't really want to deal with anyone who is dumb enough not to realize what they're bidding on! My solution for these problems is to deal with them the same way I deal with all my NPB's. First, give them an opportunity to pay for all fees incurred. If they don't do that... file NPB and FVF and relist the item.

You could offer to relist and if it sells - let Queen off the hook. But if not she agrees to pay the extra fees in addition to the old fees.

Ah Yes. We all have these problems with bidders that don't take time to read the TOS. I had one bidder who negged me because I didn't take P/P. My TOS plainly states that I will take all credit cards through PayPal.

Beth:

I love yer ads! What a truly nifty niche to sell in.

Very creative, with (Ralphie is a'guessing here) LOW overhead/investment?

Anyhoo...we, too, feel yer PAIN!

My favorite one was when I sold a pair of:

"BABY WorkBoots SIZE teeny-weeny by OSHKOSH 'bGOSH"

IN the INFANTS SHOES category...

and (of course) this Blonde-Star Subscriber sent me an irate demand to return them for a FULL REFUND because they DID NOT FIT HER HUBBY'S CLOD-HOPPERS!

God'loveEM!
