Got a Paypal payment tonight with this message on it. "Tell driver OK to leave package at front door. Dog will kiss the him and try to ride in the truck. Tell him "Dutton, No." or "Dutton, Sit."
Does the buyer expect me to write this on the package, or travel down to Florida from Canada with the mailman to give him instructions!!

Reminds me of an instruction I got once. It was obviously a work address and I was told to tell the delivery man to leave the package in a certain office on a certain floor.
I just wrote back that I would address the package - but I had no control over where the Postal worker left the package.

Why not just go ahead and write it on the package. At the very least it'll give every postal worker who sees it a good chuckle.

I'm with yellowstone. Those postal workers need a good laugh now and then. I'd print in on a small piece of paper and glue it on the front of the package.

Roadsmith is correct. This will insure the package gets delivered to the right address. The mailman may not know who your customer is, but he knows every dog on his route, and he'll know Dutton.

Remember the customer is always right , service will get you more sales plus I agree it will only get a good laugh throughout the Postal departments which surely need it.

If it is the regular deivery person, they will understand the message. Whjenm the FedEx Man comes, my dog goes crazy at the sound of the truck, but when he comes to the porch he is greeted with a big tail wagging.

OH NO!!!!! placing a MESSAGE on the OUTSIDE of you Package is a NO NO with the Post Office!!!!! you WILL be charged MORE money!! if you do that........

Jack, I believe you are wrong. If it's delivery instructions to the Postal delivery person then it's ok. They might charge more if it were a message to the person it is addressed to.

I think what Jack is talking about is if you tape an envelope on the box they will charge you for a postage stamp. Still no biggy but I would just write it on the box

Sorry, Nope I didn't mean an enveloped taped on the side, You write anything on the OUTSIDE of the package OTHER than addresses,It's called correspondence and they WANT that MONEY! Mine said Thank you for your purchase,,,,,She the postal woman said that will be $1.50 more. Actually she said total is $4.50.....I said what??? that same package has always been $3.00.......then she said what she said and that's all she said, enough said....
100's packages for years NONE of the other workers said a word,,,,ONE new one showed up one day.....She knew ALL the rules,I avoided her till the day she just disappeared,wheeeeeeee........
I would litterally would just take another number and wait in line again,,,,,
