Book sellers...Need help with a term. What do you call that part of the book that's the outsides of the pages when the book is closed? I'm referring to the pages at the top, bottom and side of the book when it's closed. I'm thinking there's a specific term for that but don't know what it is. Thanks for any help...

I think they are called page ends or page edges. At least that's what I call them.

If you're talking about those paper thimajigs between the front and back covers, I think they're called pages, except in Arkansas. When they take a book to the outhouse....ooops, never mind, the last time I said anything about Arkansas, a Vendio poster came in and cleaned my clock.
