I had a customer last week win nearly $300 in various lots from me. First night, no payment, no word. next day, same thing, third day, more of the same. The fourth day I got an email with them falling all over themselves appologizing. They had tried to send payment but PayPal would not allow them, they were waiting for get their expanded use number. Since their feedback was under 15 I was sure I was in for a plethora of filings then I clicked on their feedback.... Sure they only had 14 unique feedbacks but when you look at their actual feedback they had well over 200 total. Usually I would file non payment on Monday (especially someone with such a low number) but now that I see their actual history...they can have all the time they need. They like to come back to the same sellers and each time it looks like they nearly double their order.

4 whole days! I wouldn't worry. Looks like they like to buy multiple items at a time.

If you knew the trends on these items you would start to show concern at 4 days. 75% of the time, if something goes four days without being paid... it never gets paid.

The vast majority of my customers pay the same day or the day after they win. In fact, this persons purchases are the only ones for the past 6 days I am still waiting payment on. Even all of yesterdays sales are paid (and shipped )

Depending on the demographics there are some items I file right on the seven day mark, others I will wait up to two weeks. Impulse stuff or something that appeals to a younger demo gets paid quick or not at all. Other stuff that appeals to a more mature demo can go longer before I show concern.

Fenix, you speak the truth! So much depends on what you're selling, and to whom.

Talk about someone with her head in the sand. Now if you said 7 days, I would agree. But with many people still sending checks and money orders up to 14 days is still within reason. To say if something goes past 4 days, it don't get paid is simply stupid. Consider the source.

Stone - do you know something about my business that I don't?

You know the one sure way to make a perfect fool of yourself is to assume you know more about a persons business than they do.

Example 1 - You seem to think you know what my deadbeat ratio is better than I do.
Example 2 - You seem to assume I accept checks or money orders when the reality is that I only accept PayPal and Visa or Master thru my merchant account.

Next time - ask a few questions before you jump straight into smartass mode. I'm always more than happy to correct your incorrect assumtions. I thought you would have realized that by now.

Fenix, I have started noticing a slower rate of pay with my PP customers.

In the past almost all of my PP customers paid within 24 hours. My TOS states I want to hear from them within 3 days regardless of how they chose to pay so I can have their item ready to ship. Last round of auctions that closed on Tuesday night, I had 2 buyers email me and say they would be paying thru PayPal on Saturday. Seems kinda strange. They could have paid just as quickly as they responded to the email. Go figure??

Doesn't matter to me, but just seemed odd. ITs the ones I don't hear from that bother me. But luckily, I haven't had any NPB's yet.

LT - They probably have auto deposit on their checks. The get paid on Friday and can debit again on Saturday.

You are lucky you have yet to have a NPB. Wish I could say the same.

ltray...It's essential you know how to deal with an NPB if you ever get one. Since you don't have any, I can loan you a few to practice on.
