I just got a $52.00 payment. The pay pal e mail looks, perfect! $52.00????? I ain't selling anything worth $52.00?? I go to my eb account...nothing sold for $52.00.....so I go to pp.....there is NO deposit of $52.00! I did NOT click on anything, like view the details of this trans,,,,I sent it to [email protected] This is rediculous!!!!!
BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!!
How in the Hell can people be careful that have 100's of auctions going and being paid with PP????????? I am Lucky I have very few auctions going,,,,,Something told me DON'T click on the details of the transaction. Also in my e mail to PP I said they NEED to put the E bay number clearly so we can SEE it with out having to CLICK anything.....
Good luck,,,Sleep well, PP is on DUTY protecting YOU!

Just received that one myself within the last 30 minutes. I have nothing up for auction on eBay and all items have long been paid for and shipped. Exact same dollar amount!
I had one of these not to long ago. Sure a good imitation.

This one looks good too. I never click on a link anymore from email messages anymore. The only way I could tell it was a fake by looking was when I put the cursor over the hyperlink, it was not a paypal address that it linked to. I wonder how many people clicked through on that one though, it did look very good.

I guess the THING to watch for is that pending thing......30 days.... that was one of the things that rang bells in my head..

Jack - considering how inconsistant most believe the PayPal email system to be I don't understand why people would actually rely on it. You can go directly to your account on the website and use the records there to ship from. PUll up the details, prepare your shipment, "file" the transaction. You clearly see if new things have come in and deal with the quickly. The only time the emails are relavent is when you recieved a echeck with sometimes take longer to clear than the website keeps a transaction showing active in the front page (they autopmatically file after 7 days).
I just does not seem logical to me to depend on something most decry as faulty when there is a much more secure method that involves nothing more than logging in to your account.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

I have never had a problem with the e mail thing. so I never gave it a second thought. from NOW ON,,,I Will go to my account and do ALL from there....this thing DOES show up as a PENDING....and wants you to either accept or Deny payment....Much like a REAL pending one....with all the threats about if you don't and so on and so on.....make people WANT to click it! Hell it says $52.00 is waiting for ME tempting! I know what waiting for me,,,,,stung! and 1000's of others ARE being just that STUNG!

I haven't checked my mail, but appreciate the info. I never "click" on any e-mail from PayPal, eBay, or the other sites I use, but it did remind me of a couple of "newbies'" I know who might click on such so I sent out a warning e-mail to all I know who use PayPal - which is a limited list, as I know few who are serious, regular sellers.
Thanks for the info!
