Jack, I think the reply to seller emails through ebay only hold but so many characters. I'm not sure how many, but I am pretty sure its a limited amount.
Also, I just read somewhere that ebay is limiting the number of emails you can send through the 'ask a seller a question' per day. From what I remember, I dont think you have to worry, because it said something about if you have "less than" such-n-such number of feedback you can only send, - I think - 5 per day, and otherwise 10 per day?? But dont quote me on that as I have to go back and re-read the article to be sure that is what it said.
But its either you typed too many characters in the field, or you've exceeded the ask a question for seller emails per day, limit.
btw, a good thing to do is when you write something long is before you set to send it off or do anything with it, do a Control C on your keyboard and then at least you will have a copy of it in your clipboard if anything goes wrong.
edited to add: In case you didnt know, you have to highlight the text first, then do ctrl C together and the next paste you do, it should be what you copied.
Hope that helps you
..
