delete your image but first make note of the exact NAME and rename your new image with the EXACT name of the old picture - upload it - and wahlaah - new picture is now in place.

NOTE: due to cookies and a little lag time on VD and Ebay's part - it may take a few minutes to actually show up as the new improved picture.

Clear your cookies and toss your cache in the meantime.

Is it possible to rename picture on this site? Every time I upload the right picture, it gets chopped of (cropped weird). I already have the right picture uploaded but the name is wrong.

Ah me!!!!!

no - not on this site and to still have it uploaded to the auction.

You have to go into whatever image editing you use and rename it there and upload it into VD & then and only then will the new picture be uploaded into the auction.

I don't know about it being two totally different sizes - mine are always about the same size.

I dont know if this sounds too complicated for you, but why dont you edit it in the auction?
You know where the description box with the html comes up? If the picture says: beedoo\house.jpg Just go in there and change it to beedoo\car.jpg -whatever the other picture's name is. Edit the words and the auction should reflect the right picture. I'm pretty sure I've done it that way and it works.

I haven't done this in a while.
But if you have it hosted by vendio sometimes you can't just upload a pic with the same name.
And expect the new pic to show.
The old pic may still show.

The best thing is to upload the new pic with a new name, then revise on auction site, Ebay, etc. with new name.

Thanks, everybody, for your help. I'm new at this and need ALLLLLL the help I can get

FYI, I did understand what you were saying, dblfugger9, but I had already ended the item by the time I read your post. (Besides, I noticed a few things in the description that I wanted to change and eBay would keep the revisions for some reason.)

You CAN upload a pic with the same exact name and swap out pictures that way.

The old picture MAY show due to 3 things.
1) Lag time between VD & Ebay
2) Lag time between Ebay & revised auction
3) Cookies.

And I have had to go so far as to clean out my cache, toss my cookies, clean disc and shut down and restart my computer to get the new picture to show up.

Sometimes just clearing the cookies and cache will do it and refreshing the page a few times.

I swap out photos that way all the time. There's no need to go into Ebay and do it.

GG, I thought they dont let you do that? Thought they give it a car1 or a car-a extension?

If you just upload a new pic, with a diff name, all you have to do is change *.jpg in the html. You dont have to the remove old picture 1st or rename it. It's less steps, to me and I've never seen any lag time doing it that way.

Here' what I do to replace pictures:
1) delete the image you don't want but write down the EXACT name you have in your listing.
2) go to "REcycle Bin" and empty it.
3) upload new image with EXACT same name as deleted one.
4) clear your temp internet filed

You should now see your new image.
