If you know the words to this song, you're either older than you think or have been hanging around some one who is (grin)
Anyone know what kind of Dog/Puppie this is ?

Spark, the only thing I remember is what is right after that verse
Who is that doggie in the window,
The one will the waggley tail
Who is that doggie in the window?
I wonder if he is for sale

The version I knew as a child was:
How much is that doggie in the window,
The one with the waggely tail,
How much is that doggie in the window,
I hope that poor doggies for sale.

That's the version I remember too Amber . my mom taught us the song - I thought it was a nursery rhyme! I googled for the other verses - definitely NOT a nursery rhyme!!
How much is that doggy in the window,
The one with the waggily tail?
How much is that doggy in the window?
I do hope that he is for sale.
I don't have a brother or a sister
They just put my daddy in jail
I sure need a friend who love me
I do hope that doggy's for sale.
Mommy is on the street hustling
Trying to raise daddy's bail
And I sure get hungry in the evening
I do hope that doggy's for sale.

Ahaa.... okay, stricken from the rules about the Googling ... HERE is the verses I remember better (I knew 'California' was somewhere in a verse )
---
HOW MUCH IS)THAT DOGGIE IN THE WINDOW - 17/04/1953
1 week at #1 - 11 weeks on chart
How much is that doggy in the window
Woof woof
The one with the waggely tail
How much is that doggy in the window
Woof woof
I do hope that doggy's for sale
I must take a trip to California
And leave my poor sweetheart alone
If he has a dog he won't be lonesome
And the doggy will have a good home
How much is that doggy in the window
Woof woof
The one with the waggely tail
How much is that doggy in the window
Woof woof
I do hope that doggy's for sale
I read in the papers there are robbers
woof woof
With flashlights that shine in the dark
My love needs a doggy to protect him
And scare them away with one bark
I don't want a bunny or a kitty
I don't want a parrot that talks
I don't want a bowl of little fishes
He can't take a goldfish for walks
How much is that doggy in the window
Woof woof
The one with the waggely tail
How much is that doggy in the window
Woof woof
I do hope that doggy's for sale

estatesalestuff, yes, that is the version we used to sing many years ago in England. I think the other is a more modern version. I must say I prefer the old one better. I used to sing the first verse all the time to my kids when they were little, and they did the "woof woof" part.

I'm pretty sure Lawrence didn't allow Neglus's version on his show.

LOL - I sure didn't! That was the first result when I googled with it spelled "doggy" (you get other results with "doggie" evidently LOL). I don't remember it even being a pop song - just a ditty my mom sang (and I guess she only knew the first verse!)

Ladyjewels: I'm pretty sure that Fever was done by Julie _______ (blanking on her last name!) - sultry, smoky voice, a fabulous rendition.
