Can anyone help me identify this object. It is 3 inches long. The front reads, "Brenner & Herman Custom Shirts & Underwear, Quality and Fit" and the back reads "Daisy" in script (looks like the same trademark as Daisy rifles) and a patent date of 1916. I have a feeling this may be for fastening collar buttons, but that is a wild guess.
I also found a cute little old bottle opener in the shape of a ladies leg patented 1918 from Crown Bottling Works. I am attaching a pic just because I like it so much!

If the first object is no longer than a few inches, it's probably a collar button fastener. And you do have the hint with the words on the metal--that it has something to do with shirts.

The first one is a button fastener. The second item is an instrument used by doctors in the Ozarks to perform hemmerhoid surgery.
