I am not familiar with this teapot, or any teapots for that matter. I can't identify the signature, so I thought I would ask the pros on vendio. We found it at a Goodwill. It is a bronze metallic finish. Very cute.

Not to be a wise-guy, but are you sure that signature isn't upside down? Upside down it could easily by fry___h/l. I have no idea what that means, but I like it better upside down.

Have you every heard of the nursery rhyme:
"There was a crooked man
Who walked a crooked mile
He found a crooked sixpence
Upon a crooked stile"

Well, I think this is HIS teapot.

trying to read it the way the picture's posted and upside down as well, to make michael graves out. he has a flair for designing the unusual, but the signature (really hard to decipher it!) doesn't seem to say graves.

It was a standard teapot until UPS transported it.

The first name in the signature looked like "jan" maybe dutch for John. So I had been doing some searching under that name. But looking at the link provided by neglus it could be Jon as in Jon Route, whose work in shown, The signature looks like a "t" ending; however, that may be stretching it. The work of Richard Swanson in clay is rather, uh, interesting but not sure I'd really use it for any sort of liquid refreshment, hot or cold.
