Do you usually spend much time cruising the German classifieds?
If you take a look at it, it's basically the Craigslist of Germany.

No, I'm saying -- I'm merely -- I'm saying what I'm saying. I don't know why I'm always having people say, are you trying to say -- you know what you can do if you want to know what I'm saying is listen to what I'm saying. What I'm saying is what I said ...

yes, fenix, i have nothing better to do than spend all day cruising obscure German classified ads
i can sorta see spending the $100 million they're spending to ramp up in China but...Germany? they already have a healthy ebay market there. the rent.com purchase is another one i don't quite get. http://stores.ebay.com/postcardspostcards

I agree with you on the Rent.com one. That makes sense no me... well... maybe...ok...there is alot of revenue from the management companies getting their apartments viewed and I'm sure more than a little bidding to get them ranked higher in search results and it is a nationwide service so better organization of it, greater exposure via the front page presence on ebay can bring in greater referral credit.....OK, I kinda get it. (thank you for joining me today for this short tour inside my head, there will be souveniers available as you exit from the right ear only please )
I think the opusforum purchase probably has something to do with the mention on the MSNBC piece about how their car sale sight was not as successful in Germany as they were hoping. Maybe they bought their competion in that area in order to combine the two and bring in the marketshare they were seeking along with the additional ad income.
