I have plates and hostess plates marked Santa Anita Ware "Coquette" pattern. I searched Ebay, replacementsltd., google, looking for that pattern. No luck. Ditto for looking for history of Santa Anita Ware. No luck.
Do you have a California Potteries book or section of a book that could tell anything about this? The plates were in the cabin we inherited, and were probably bought in the 50s - 70s.

LtRay: Thanks for the history bit. I don't know how I missed that on Google. And I agree with you that the Red Anthurium is just gorgeous. In researching this pattern I have, I've seen some lovely patterns the company made in the past.
I've posted this question on the Ebay pottery board but as is usually the case no one has any information, so Vendio comes through again!
Honestly, because sometimes I suffer from Brain Fog, I keep turning the plate over to make sure I have the maker and pattern right--but they're VERY clearly marked. Could our Aunt Dorothy have bought the whole inventory of Coquette--all 15 dinner plates and 5 hostess plates--before they broke the mold? Did the company hate it so much they just quit making it, LOL? It is SUCH a mystery to me.
Ah well. It may be that someone "out there" has been searching for this and will see the first two hostess plates I launch.

In my California Pottery Book 2nd edition it says they were in business from the 40's-50's in Los Angeles. Made decorated dinnerware and kitchenware, two photos both very modern looking. One plate has spirals the other a bird of paradise, they have stamped marks. Not much info on them.

My California Pottery Book (must be volumn 1) has a few pieces listed, but under the "Other Potters" section. The plates shown were (not Coquette) from the 50's and valued at about $10 each in '92.

Twig: Yes, that helps a lot. Thanks so much. I'll be shooting in the dark on these but will launch a couple of trial balloons. There may be a Coquette owner out there who's as frustrated as I am over not finding it anywhere for sale on the internet.
