I have seen sellers selling new items, they are not wholesalers or retailers who order from factory, they just have one dress here or one bottle of perfume there, and they are all high end items.
where do these items come from?
I doubt they are from garage sale or dollar shop, they are too expensive to be found in such places.

Occasionally, during my lifetime, I've bought something--a piece of clothing, for instance. Hung it in my closet in the WISH end of the closet for when I would finally lose weight. Didn't happen. I would donate such an item to a thrift store or, as in the case of Nordstrom after 2 years of hanging a wool skirt, return it for my money back. When my mother died, she had a pretty wool coat that she'd never worn and we'd left the tags on it. I sold that on Ebay.
But. . . I suppose shoplifters would also sell something with the tags on?!

I've picked up high end unopened items from time to time from yard sales and Goodwill. You'd be surprised what you can find. I bought a skin conditioner set for firming skin and getting rid of winkles just last month from goodwill for almost nothing and got 52.00 for it on eBay for it. See

Most of what I sell on E-Bay is new items. Some are close-outs, some are just stuff from companys that sell wholesale. I run two other stores in a Peddlers Mall so I have to have a lot of merchandise to change around to keep my sales up.

I don't mean to burst your bubble, but garage sales, yard sales and estate sales are exactly where 99% of my new items come from. Most are items that the person either purchased or received as a gift and simply put it on a shelf somewhere and forgot about it. It is not so uncommon either. Nearly everytime I go out, I will find something that is new.
