I started this trip with every intention of spending a few days in Florida and visiting all my friends. However, I received a call that my presence was urgently request in Bermuda, so I had to detour to take care of this family emergency. I'm so sorry I didn't have the opportunity to meet with each of you individually, and I doubt I'll have the opportunity to return any time soon.
Sincerely,
Franklin
A little too close for comfort!!!

Not so fast.....this one could be like the in-law that leaves, and then turns around because they realized they left a pair of underwear in your dryer. Forecasts are all over the place on Franklin, but the one with the most lielihood has Ben doing a loop de loo and coming back to Florida between Daytona and Miami in 6 days.

Longtime...Agreed. Even though the latest forecast shows this thing to fizzle completely in the next couple days, it would be a good idea if Tom has Ralphie keep close track of it. Eight hours ago, it was predicted to intensify into a hurricane. Any storm with a life threatening potential needs to be watched closely.

sparkz,
Don't know if you recall but,
Sept 18, 2003 a hurricane totally destroyed my house. I remember the date & even the time, 10:30 pm, but can't remember the darn name it's driving me crazy.

Jane...It was hurricane Isabel. If anyone named Isabel ever bids on one of your auctions, be sure to gouge her on shipping and handling.

Iabel, yes, yes that's the one that came all the way from Florida & singled me out.
Don't worry sparkz all Isabels will pay for what they did to me, homeless for 20 long, long months.
But then again she did get me a brand new house, have to think it over maybe it was worth it, on second thought 20 months isn't all that long.

Roadsmith..Have you peeked out your window lately? Your county is under a severe thunderstorm warning. You were under a tornado warning earlier with a touchdown in Hemet. Most of Southern Calif is under a flash flood warning, including Kern and Tulare counties in the valley. Emily just won't give up. Interestingly, Orange County is under no warnings. Jack probably bribed the weatherman.

LOL, Sparkz! I've been running from window to window ALL DAY praying for rain. NADA! Can you believe it?! And there's Hemet 18 miles down the hill with flash flooding, and there's Banning, 22 miles the other direction with flash flooding. We've had dark overcast clouds all day and about 20 drops (literally). (We had a teeny amount of rain overnight, just enough to dampen the driveway, and we could hear thunder in the distance.) You can count the drops in the dust on my deck! Mother Nature must be playing with us.

Some of the storms around you have been very strong and have caused flooding. Several have dumped a couple inches of rain today. If they don't getcha today, tomorrow will be when the bulk of Emily rolls into the area. And there will be another behind her. TD7, which is soon to become tropical storm Gert, will be coming ashore in Mexico about the same place as Emily hit.

You all in the southland are getting RAIN! I can't believe it! Here near SF it is DRY and HOT triple digits. Not very common around here in the summer Not a cloud in sight.

Paloma...The mountains at the south end of the valley are trying to block it from the rest of the state. A little made it through today, mainly up into the Sierras, and there were some fireworks at the higher elevations. Dumped enough rain to put us into a flash flood warning for awhile. I don't know if you'd want any of this hot humid stuff this time of year. I'm hoping the gate up north will open long enough to let through a cold blast from Alaska. That would put out the triple digit fires in a hurry

RAIN, RAIN, RAIN!!! DOIN' THE HAPPY DANCE.
We spent the night at our cabin 10 miles away from Idyllwild and we had a good soaking rain + thunder and lightning this afternoon. Came home, dry as a bone in Idyllwild, but as soon as we walked into our house the rain started here too.
IT'S ABOUT TIME, MOTHER NATURE. I was calling you the B word all the way home today. Did you hear me, lady?

So Emily finally knocked on your front door? Congratulations!! I bet the VD'rs in Florida think we're all nuts out here for sending out an engraved invitation to a hurricane

Sparkz, that's for sure. I had a garage sale today and watched the clouds hovering around hills just east of the ocean . Darn it, around 10am, they disappeared back over to the coast. Well, atleast it was slightly cooler than yesterday, just slightly. Rain would have been nice but you can keep the humidity. Thank you very much.
