Okay...put yourself in this situation - You have acquired several pairs of highly collectible vintage pants. The average pair is selling for around $70 on ebay. The only problem with the ones you have is the elastic has lost it's stretch. Do you sell them as they are or take them to a seamstress and have new elastic put in? Would any of that affect the price? I'm stumped! Any advice is GREATLY appreciated!

I would sell them without the alteration. Most vintage clothing buyers seem to be fairly handy with a needle and thread, and could easily do it themselves. If you take it to a seamstress, I would guess it to be about $15, seems like too much of an investment for a $70 item when I don't think it would affect the selling price by that much.

Sell them as is. Just be sure to start your description with "Attention Lard Butts......"
