Just logged in to my Paypal account and was asked to provide my business information in a form (below). How in the heck does this increase my safety & the integrity of Paypal? Why would they be asking for this?

Paypal wants to know if you are using paypal for venues outside Ebay.
It has a right to know as it is the middleman which takes the risk of accepting credit cards and disbursing fund.

I was definitely in the Paypal site after logging in. Now I'm convinced someone is out to get me! It's the taxman!

Just double checked my Paypal account, there is now a link under my profile that says Business Information with the info I just entered. Strange.

I think it'a actually about gathering demographic info plus "threat assessment" as some catagories are more prone to fraud than others. It definitely is not a very thorough or well thought out list... if you look at it, it doesn't even include jewelry.
