Normally i only use vendio for hosting and launching my auctions. a while ago i had problems with people stealing my photos and using them to sell their opal. so i started to watermark them. hence the secret message in the sky. sorry no meatballs. perhaps a little rain.
yes we do have some of the best wines in the world. but i understand you guys do also.
i think your customs would get a little upset with you trying to bring in a kangaroo. but i can send a photo of one.
opals are a little too expensive to give away. i do have some very nice cut stones available.

I want a Bilby, fat chance of getting one though.
Then how about a Sydney Funnel Web, Box Jelly Fish or a Blue Ringed Octopus.
You have the most wonderfull & fascinating creatures in Australia, including Steve Irwin.
Opals are my number 1 favorite gemstone.
How lucky you are to own an entire mine.
Your beautiful sunrise picture puts me in mind of Africa.

Cant help you with the creatures. i have come across the bilbys in the wild. lovely creature.opal is also my favourite stone too. i actually own 3 opal mines. one is 40 acres. one is 12 acres, and the last is 9 acres. i have enough work for 150 years. as time goes on i will list photos of the mining and area for those that are interested. i have just started getting some nice stones out.
and i live only 25 miles from Steve Irwins zoo. In real life he really is just as big a character as he is on tv.

Gorgeous! I would really love to take a trip to Australia some day. It's my second favorite that I want to see. First, of course, is my heritage -- ITALY!

Ever since I spent 3 days in Sydney (business trip, not much else) and read Bill Bryson's book about Australia (which I recommend 100%), I've wanted to go for a month or two. Even though I worked when I was there, I was incredibly impressed with the balance people there had between work, life, humor, etc. There are 2 places that I have known people to miss and return to even though they knew that they'd make considerably less money there: Australia and Canada.
The tempting thing is that my wife could easily get transferred there and have her company pay the freight. The one big problem with that is family, especially my 15-year old who lives nearby with his mother and who I see a lot of. I would love to take him with us, but that would be a difficult negotiation with his mother.
Claude
PS I forget the exact numbers, but some 80% of really dangerous wildlife (snakes, lethal jellyfish, etc) reside in Australia. You can read all about it in Bryson's book.

No i have not been to ayers rock, but my wife heather has. most americans that come to australia always come back. they love our way of life. we do tend to be more layback then most countries. we love it too. i live near a place called Maleny. which is on the Sunshine Coast hinterland. about 1.5 hrs north of brisbane Queensland. the friendliest place in Australia. it is a beautiful place. green grass all year around. and a very friendly place.
i have a friend from Alaska staying here at the moment. he does not want to go back. reckons it is too cold over there.
yes there some mean critters here. the 7 deadliest land snakes in the world. in the area of my mine it is the home of a snake called the fierce snake. it just happens to be the deadliest land snake in the world. in 4 years out there i have only seen 1. in most cases snakes are more scared of you then you are of them, they will generally try very hard to get away from people.

This thread has motivated me. My wife has been planning a family trip to London and some time in the UK and Iceland for next summer, but maybe I can swing her thinking towards Australia. I will craftily bring along Bryson's Australia book on our vacation that we start TOMORROW!!! Yipee!
