Check out this guy. He retracted 9 bids on my auctions in the past 3 days. I checked his feedback, and the amount of his retractions is ridiculous... (all this in only 3 weeks of being a registerd user). I emailed ebay twice, and so far they have done nothing about this clown. The guy continues to bid....and retract.... and bid some more.

Sorry I don't know how to make it a link. Maybe someone can help..

He also seems to have won quite a few auctions to just have 1 feedback.

can't they get "reported" for that much flagrant 'retracting'? ...

Tom, you must have blinked. It's now 82 retractions... At this rate, he'll have a couple hundred retractions before tomorrow. Still a registered user, though. Gotta love it. Ebay's doing nothing about it.

(edited because I can't spell "registered" correctly when steam is coming out of my ears.)

He's got to be tampering with someone's auctions - checking out the reserves or something similar. Do you get the feeling he's been booted off Ebay before?

86 retractions. And that's not for the last 6 months. It's for the last 3 weeks. This account was obviously set up for the purpose of disrupting other seller's auctions. Looks like he's got it in for sports card sellers. Probably a refugee from Bidville. Or a sports card seller on Ebay, under another I.D., out to wreck competitor's auctions.

He is definitely out to disrupt auctions. This is obvious to everyone but ebay. I've emailed them twice (through the so called "prioritized" powerseller support),in the last 3 days about this guy (who retracted bids on 9 of my auctions), and nothing is being done about it. 86 retractions in 3 weeks, and ebay sees no problem with that...??

Can't you block him from bidding or doesn't that feature work?

Yes, he's blocked. That feature works. It's just that Ebay doesn't figure that 86 bid retractions in 3 weeks is enough for the "NARU" feature to work. Auction interference is not a punishable offense I guess. Like sellers don't have enough crap to deal with already. Jeeesh....what a joke.

He has won 16 auctions, but feedback exchanged for only 1 item(?!?).

My first thought is that it might be a shill account.

My second guesses, which seems more likely, is that he uses the account to either test reverse prices or to see other people's proxy bids.

What were the "reasons" for the bid retractions on your auctions, mipakaco?

His reasons for retraction were- 4 times "entered wrong amount".Which he then changed his bids to 5 different items, then retracted those 5 with "cannot contact seller" (which is total BS. No emails from him whatsoever). Guess he can't contact the other 60 or 70 sellers he retracted bids on either. Yeah right.

Just noticed he retracted a couple more since we last looked. Up to 88 retractions now in 3 weeks. Ebay still doing nothing about it.

Contact some of the other sellers and see if they will report this bidder too. If Ebay gets enough reports, they will naru him. Unfortunately, only those who he has done this to can report him.

Unfortunately there is no way of checking on who the other sellers are. Once he retracts the bid, there is no record of which item he did it on. Maybe if ebay is periodically checking this Vendio board, they will do something about this guy. So far, the so called "prioritized" PowerSeller support has done nothing. They are allowing him to continue bidding (and retracting). 88 retractions and counting. (He must hold the ebay bid retraction record for only being registered for 3 weeks). I wonder what the magic number is to be NARU'd. 100? 200?

i'll bet you as soon as that ID is naru'ed, he will just conjure up another and do the same thing.

I guess all we can do is block him for now. Does anyone chat on any baseball card boards? If so, maybe you could give them a heads up.

Total # doesn't seem to be a criteria for suspension. But a few seller (or bidder) complaints will problably get him NARU'd.

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/invalid-bid-retraction.html

Invalid Bid Retraction

A bid is a binding contract. Except under special circumstances, bid retraction is not permitted. Furthermore, misuse of the bid retraction option to manipulate the bidding process is not permitted. This includes any manipulation of the bidding process to discover the maximum bid of the current high bidder or to uncover the reserve price.

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

Listing cancellation
Limits on account privileges
Account suspension
Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings
Loss of PowerSeller status

I guess ebay looks at it like, the poor guy's had 88 "special circumstances" in 3 weeks. Let's let him continue.

Up to 90 retractions now. Only 10 more to go to reach triple figures. Ebay still asleep at the wheel.
