I have a vintage round butter dish with a cover.
Inside is an insert with holes in it. I think it is to put the butter on and then put ice underneath to keep it cold.
What is this insert called. Tnx for your reply

It's called the drainer and was there to allow the buttermilk to drip to the bottom holder.
