Why on earth anyone would use this huge typeface for an auction is beyond me. Click on it from the search page. . . good photos, okay title, lookin' good. . . down a little further, lookin' good. . . then

WHAM! BAM! POW! Let me move back from my computer, please. The impact is like an exploding hand grenade.

I've seen worse, but I always wonder the same thing and that is why sellers make the print so big. You wear your mouse out scrolling down the auction.

I think this is the result of people who have no knowledge of HTML trying to write their own code.

MAH Said "I've seen worse"

You know, I've seen plenty of awful auctions, but I've never seen type that insanely large. Anytime you have to scroll right and left to simply read TEXT, something is badly wrong.

I would be tempted to say this was a simply mistake, but this sellers has two dozen similarly designed auctions running right now and a feedback over 200.

My only suggestion is that maybe thaey have the default resolution on their monitor set too high and this looks like simple bold text to them.

Just stupid.

I don't think it is bad. Not those super long terms that some have and easy on the eyes. I did not have to scroll to the side it was all on my screen.

259 FB's, you'd think they'd know how by now...rakin' in the bids on their junk hot and heavy, too...

It looks ok on my screen. I don't have to scroll right and left. Why would that be?

Your monitor is 6 feet wide?

I have a 22 inch monitor. I use a resolution of 1024 x 768 which makes the print on my web browser about like 12 point type which is considered standard for more or less easy reading. The type in the add in question here looks like about 500 point!

I had to change the resolution all the way up to 1360 x 1024 to get the add to no longer scroll and my browser type was about like 6 point type. That brought the add type down to about 200 point.

Boy do I envy all you folks with good eyes that can read that fine print. I'd have to have a magnifying glass to read my screen.

Peace,
Don

profe - I'm using a laptop with a monitor that's 12 inches wide. The auction looks good to me (still no right/left scrolling).

Maybe, whatever the seller has done looks the same way on his monitor that it does on mine.

It's awful!! I have a 17" monitor and have to scroll way to the right. No way would I bother reading the entire auction, let alone bid on it. Not all of us have 22" monitors (why does one need such a large one anyway?). I try to make sure mine will be seen okay on a 15" monitor. That way, no one has to scroll.

I think that how it appears may depend on the type size that you have selected for your window. Under "view" scroll down to text size -- if you select medium or smaller the ad will appear fairly normal.

cblev65252, Most folks don't need monitors much over 17 or 19. The larger the monitor the larger your viewing experience thus easier on the eyes. I have heard that same comment from my wife, "Why do we need this big monitor?"

I work a lot with graphic programs Corel Draw, Painter, and Photoshop. They all have tool windows that need to be up so you can access the tools while creating complicated graphics so the larger the screen the easier it is to move them off to the side and out of the way of the image. Dual monitors is another option I have not tried.

The size of everything you view is related to what your screen resolution is set to. Many folks buy a out of the box machine and it comes preset and they do not know that they can change it.

Peace,
Don

Using Firefox I had to scroll side to side. Huge print! Using Internet Explorer it looked natural. Does anyone know how to reset Firefox so you don't need to scroll.

It lookd humongous to me too - it took about 6 clicks of CTRL-MINUS to get it readable and then the other print was teeny teeny tiny.

Don

I certainly can relate to the programs you mention. I can see the need for a large monitor when you're working with graphics, which is something I do myself. Or, it could just be a "man" thing. LOL!

Nothing wrong with the font at all. In fact, it sells better than the standard 2 bit type. This font is easy to read and nothing hidden.

The ones that really suck is when they do not use a larger font and have a 2000 word explanation why it takes then a month and a half to ship the item once it is paid for, or you can only pay on the third sunday after a full moon after the last 20 degree day of the season.

Kudos to this seller for having enough sense to allow his/her bidders a real chance to read what the item is and easy terms.

Ya Cheryl,
Maybe it is a guy thing. I bought a 17 inch monitor in 1997 when that was the largest I could afford. When it died, I bought this one. It is a pain every three to six months when we move as it weighs 74 lbs!

When I bought the 22, a LCD was out of sight at a similar size. They are now down to about what I paid for the 22 but it is a perfectly good monitor and I would be hard pressed to be able to retrieve any money for it so I continue to lug it

Prayers to all the folks in Louisiana and Alabama.
Don
