Yesterday afternoon, a low pressure system in the Atlantic worked up enough energy to develop into a tropical depression, which is the first stage of a hurricane. It was named Tropical depression #13 and projected a path towards the U.S. East Coast. This afternoon, it fizzled and is no longer considered a threat to develop into anything more than a PITA for ships. It will be closely monitored by NHC, though for any indications of regeneration.

My brother & sister in law from California are coming for a visit next week. I have not seen them in 10 years. My sister lives in Savannah Ga and we have all rented a house at the beach on Tybee Island Ga for the week. I'm keeping my fingers cross that nothing shows up to ruin our plans. We have planned this for a couple of years.
Now this makes me feel totally self centered in view of what all those poor people are going thought now. I plan give a donation to help them out but I don't think that will make me feel less guilty.

Lady "life goes on" I hope you and your family have a wonderful, happy, sunny vacation reunion together. I also hope I have sunny skies and warm weather next week at Brimfield. And huge crowds with pots of extra money! That said I have also made a donation to the Red Cross this week. What a terrible storm in the worst location for this nation as a whole and for those folks directly in its path.

I was born in Savannah and live in Jax, Fl now so I know about the heat. Sounds like there is a slight cool down for next week so that will be great.
We would go to Tybee every week or so when we were kids. Fishing and crabbing. So this really should be fun and full of memories.
My mother's family was from Charleston SC. It's really lovely there too.
