Hi
Has anyone else received an email like this from Ebay?
If you did what does this all mean.
Has someone used someone elses name to place a bid?
This email is to inform you that any recent bids placed by jencharlie may have been by an unauthorized third party. We are now in the process of restoring the account to its true owner.
If this person was the winning bidder for the transaction then the transaction in question should be considered null and void. You may relist the item and request a credit for the Final Value Fee. When a seller submits a final value fee credit request, unpaid Items are automatically identified by our system. Our system will then keep records of the credit requests that are received from sellers regarding transactions that were not completed.

tonimar ... sounds like a hijacked account situation, or a "friend" of the ebay id figured out their password and made bids.

Hi Estate
Thats what I was thinking also but I didn't really know for sure but the strangest thing just happened the person whos name is in the email there bid was cancelled but someone with the same name and a Number after there name just placed a bid for the exact same auction.
Now I don't know what to think is going on.

My guess is that the jencharlie account was inactive for 4 years, and the owner of the account placed some bids. eBay thought the account might have been hijacked, so they disabled it. The owner of the account then started a new account with the same name + a number on the end, and the user placed bids again.

Hi sthoemke
yes I think your right,
The auction ended and they paid but they didn't pay shipping cost. They are telling me shipping is listed as free.
on the listing on top where it says shipping ebay put Free, but next to it it tells you to see description.
Also in my description area you can not miss the information about shipping cost, this is in here because its a dutch auction and after a certain amount that is bid on the shipping has to be priority so its hard to list the true shipping in the area that ebay gives you to list shipping.
So now she don't want to pay shipping but I'm telling her its as clear as day all the information on shipping, there is no way it could not be seen, its right in the description area
She is insisting that shipping is Free.....
I am not going to ship her items until she pays shipping
This is what it says in my description area about shipping,
Shipping: Each package (1 pr ) is 6oz
1package shipping is $1.60 first class
2 packages shipping is $3.00 first class
3 or more packages then they need to be shipped priority since the weight is too much for first class.
You can contact me before bidding if you want the cost of shipping to your zip code.

Refund the incorrect amount and send a payment request for the correct amount. If she don't pay in a week, zap her and move on.
