Hello - I'm new here so forgive me (or direct me) if this thread is posted someplace else.
I'm interested in a discussion (pros & cons) of shipping-packaging-handling fees on eBay. I was charging a reasonable fee and requiring insurance on my high ticket items but now I see eBay is posting the shipping fee beside the opening bid pricing and adding the insurance in, which makes my fee look higher than some others. Can anyone say what their experience is or any recommendations? I do want to be able to cover costs of boxes, packaging, handling etc. but it seems most buyers want ONLY to pay the shipping fee with no consideration given to the seller's cost factors. Now eBay seems to be penalizing those of us that feel we need to require the insurance that WE have to pay on shipping items. Any help?

If you insure your items thru DSI - Discount Shipping Insurance then you can charge your customers much less for better coverage then what the post office provides. With DSI you can provide insurance but still remain competive with your shipping charges.

I don't really like this new feature either. The seller's who use Vendio can't even put their calculator there unless they edit each auction. It is, as if, ebay is once again bending over backward for the bidders and don't give a hoot about the sellers who are making them the money.
