I won an auction YESTERDAY (9/24). So far, the seller has sent me FIVE invoices.

Sparks, Vintage and anyone else that can help me out -- I'd really love to send this seller a smart*ss e-mail regarding these 5 invoices.

BTW -- This is NOT a new seller.

How long has this seller been on eBay? Maybe he isn't sure if the invoice is going through.

He's been selling for 1 1/2 years, and if he was so impatient to receive payment, he shouldn't give 5 days to pay!

"Hi, I just won your auction for the imitation Boston Terrier that looks like Ralphie. I have yet to receive an invoice from you, and I am anxious to pay. Please let me know how much I owe and I will get you paid right away. Be forwarned, my ISP has very tight spam filters. Do not use the words " Ebay, auction, item, congratulations, won, shipping, handling, Priority Mail, parcel post, FedEx, U.P.S., Paypal, money order or thanks" in any email you send me. It will be interpreted as spam and I will not receive it. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause, but the policy of my ISP is beyond my control. If I do not hear from you within the mandatory 3 days, I will assume you do not wish to complete the transaction and will contact Ebay.

Bizzy...Another variation you might want to try.." Hi, I am the winner of your Herbal Viagra auction. I have received 5 notices from my ISP that you have attempted to send me email that was infected with the rottenkrotch.w32.v virus. All text and attachments have been deleted. Please send me an invoice from a computer that is virus free so I can get a payment to you. I would suggest contacting Syamntec or McAfee about help for removing this virus from your computer. Please give this your immediate attention as I wish to complete this transaction right away."

bizzy,

five invoices since yesterday? i'd probably go ballistic and say something like:

don't you have anything BETTER to do with your time than to send me ***five*** invoices for one freakin' item? don't worry, i'll pay you immediately just to eliminate the "nuisance factor." please spare me the additional five "i have received your payment" e'mails. let's cut to the chase - i paid, you send the item.

i feel for you, bizzy. there is one person i buy from a lot for re-sale. i usually buy about 20 items at a time from her. a nanosecond after i paypal her, i will then get yep, you guessed it, 20 automated "thank you for paying so promptly" statements. drives me nuts!!!

Does he accept cash? You could say payment is on the way and send it in pennies.

Put the pennies in a coffee can. To make shure they don't rattle, fill the can with honey.

The seller may have a auto invoice system set up to send them out. I send 3 out within a few minutes after the auction come off. 1 that eBay sends,1 that Paypal sends and 1 I send (the personal touch). I have never had a problem with spam blockers, even with AOL.As to which gets through I don't know but I've never had a complaint. Also he/she may want to mail the item out tomorrow with other sales from over the weekend (gas prices are climbing again) ...does he ship UPS or Fedex ... He/she might want to only pay the pick-up fee once. Could be anything. Just curious but why are you waiting to pay if your going send a Paypal payment?

How did paypal get into the equation? Many sellers, myself included, want nothing to do with Paypal.

If the seller wants payment within 5 days they must take Paypal. If not she would of had to send payment express mail on Monday as the auction came off on Sat. or by some means of zippy quick delivery (bidpay). Plus Bizzy has stated before she pays by Paypal cause she wanted to do a charge back for a book that was missing a page

My thought is that Bizzy is a professional who would have payed by Paypal on the first invoice and would have been annoyed by the following 4 invoices, which would have spun a totally different flavor to her original post. Believe it or not, there are still sellers out there who are idiots. Of course, there are a few buyers who fall in that category also. They're the ones who keep these boards alive

If Bizzy paid on the first invoice then she has a reason to be upset but she has not stated she paid only that she has gotten 5 invoices ,that he was impatient and that he gave 5 days to pay.

My latest pet peeve is the ease to 'ask the seller a question'. I get more stupid questions than I have time to respond to ~ 99 times out of 100, the answer is in the item description. grrrrr!
Hoping that this is also irritating your 'pain in the butt seller', I would opt for sending this pita 'ask the seller a question', five times, of course, how many days do you allow for payment to be received?

First, toasted is right. I do pay with paypal. AND ... Sparkz is right, not all sellers take paypal. Dropped a check in the mail today and e-mailed him five times to tell him the check was in the mail.

Sparkz ... You have such a devious mind! I love it! And cherished runs a close second. How do you all think these things up?

Tomorrow I'm going to e-mail him 5 times and ask if my item was shipped yet.

That has to be my biggest pet peeve! A customer pays for an item on Wednesday, you ship it out Thursday and send out a shipping notification and Saturday you get this e-mail: "I haven't received my item yet. Did you ship it yet?"

Ahhhh Bizzy. You need a Canadian or two. Mine paid the 18th (Sunday) for a 14 pound item shipped slow boat (Parcel Post) of course. I shipped it out Monday the 19th.

He couldn't bring himself to spring for the extra $6.00 to send it Airmail. Today - the 26th he emails to asks where is his package?

I emailed him back and said that when I sent him the USPS page where HE CHOSE the rate, not me, and that there is no way to track his package.

Parcel Post to Canada takes 4-6 WEEKS. He thought it was 4-6 DAYS.

I did NOT call him a cheap skate. Didn't even insinuate it.

Bizzy, at least your buyer paid. I've had bidders ask where their items are before they've paid.

As for my deviousness - my customers have no clue. I'm all sweetness and light to them. Even when I suspect they are trying to con me! Don't know where it comes from but I do enjoy letting it out here once in a while.
