Just got an email from Bill Cobb.....
"***Coming Soon: 1¢ Listing Day Sale***

Bill Cobb

Dear eBay Member,

I'd like to announce a special one-day 1¢ Listing Day Sale, Insertion fees for auction-style and Fixed Price format listings on eBay.com, eBay Motors (for non-vehicles listings) and eBay.ca will be a nickel. All other fees will be at the standard rates. You can get all the details about the promotion on eBay.

eBay's success is based on the success of our buyers and sellers. We understand this, and we're working hard to put those words into action more than ever before. I know a one-day sale is a small gesture, but I hope it helps.

Regards,
Bill

There was the eBay logo and his picture and of course, the "click here to sign up" button. I've sent to [email protected] but haven't heard back yet. And no, I didn't click to sign up....

Let me know if anyone else got it. Thanks.
Sharon

You do not have to "sign up" for discount listing days. It's a spoof.

What makes me think it's a spoof is that it says "Dear eBay member" whereas a real email email from eBay would address you by your username. Mind you, it does have his real name at the top (I would think it's his real name, not sure if the email came like that). Could have been obtained through someone using the "ask seller a question" feature.

Plus, there's no messages about this in my message centre under "My eBay." And I thought it was five cent listing days, not one cent listing days.

Thanks all. eBay wrote back and said it was spam. Just one more thing to watch out for! This one even had his picture on it.

This one first started circulating back in June. Don't fall for this one. Another reason that buyers are leaving ebay for much safer venues.

Yeah, it is so much safer anywhere else on the internet! My guess is that if you look at the number of registered users a year ago and today, there are probably more today!
