I know absolutely nothing about furniture but I bought a little table today. I think it's an end table, it has two drawers and a low shelf underneath. It has the original hardware. I think the drawers are dove tail. There are stickers inside one drawer which say Imperial and Grand Rapids, Michigan. I believe the top has been replaced and the top needs refinished. Where can I look to find out a possible value? Is all Imperial furniture worth something? Or do I just need to stick it in my yard sale? Thanks for any advice.

Can you give us a picture or an idea of the style of furniture, or the wood type? My husband's grandfather owned a huge furniture store in L.A., 3 stories, from 1905 to 1935. Once a year he and one of his sons would travel to Grand Rapids to buy furniture for the store. They valued work done in Grand Rapids. The Imperial name doesn't sound familiar to me, but have you tried googling Imperial Furniture/Grand Rapids? You may get some hints that way. Good luck to you!
founded 1903-absorbed by competitor in 1955-production stopped 1962..

if your top been replaced, that will most certainly adversely effect its value; esp if needs refinishing..

imperial was one of several early manufacturers who formed a cartel to sell only furniture produced completely of mahogany-even its veneered items were cored on mahogany..
