Visits to eBay Electronics drop 32% in August, report says

The number of unique visitors to eBay Electronics fell 32% year-over-year in August to 6.54 million from 9.55 million, Nielsen/NetRatings reported.

Another eBay site, eBay Computers, had 4.16 unique visitors in August, but no year-ago comparison was available, Nielsen said. EBay Computers had 5.5 million unique visitors in July, Nielsen reported.

BestBuy.com continued to lead computer and consumer electronics retail sites with August unique traffic of 10.39 million visitors, up 18% from a year ago, followed by eBay Electronics; CircuitCity.com, 6.48 million, up 46%; eBay Computers; Sony Electronics, 3.46 million, down 1%; CompUSA.com, 3.35 million, up 49%; OSTG, 3.29 million, up 15%; Sony.com, 2.92 million, up 20%; TigerDirect.com, 2.74, up 41%; and MSN Tech & Gadgets, 2.13 million, up 33%.

CDW led computers and consumer electronics retailers in average time per person, at 17 minutes, 54 seconds, followed by TigerDirect, 14 minutes, 18 seconds; Simple Star, 13 minutes, 8 seconds; eBay Electronics, 11 minutes, 1 second; OSTG, 10 minutes, 19 seconds; Outpost.com, 10 minutes, 10 seconds; Sony Electronics, 9 minutes, 50 seconds; Gamestop.com, 9 minutes, 30 seconds; BestBuy.com, 9 minutes, 28 seconds; and eBay Computers, 9 minutes, 19 seconds, Nielsen said.

Also in August, United Online Inc. led all retail goods and services advertisers in the number of online ad impressions, according to Nielsen’s AdRelevance report. Following are the leading advertisers in that category cited by AdRelevance and their number of ad impressions in millions:

may be shoppers find out when it comes to electronic goods,it is better to go to reputable stores with new merchandise,good customer service,good packing and return policy.

Google recently changed their index ranking system. I suspect that has affected traffic to ebay.
